What I find amazing about the extra crispy snake is that in our "slumps", we are basically flat. When flat is actually still a rather good 96-point pace.

Snake rises!

I was thinking that the y axis of the crispy graph might need an adjustment before the season is over...but this recent point streak is making that a concern sooner than expected!

Tonight's win means the red snake has gotten points in the last 9 games. It's 8-0-1 in the last 9 games and 11-1-2 in the last 14 games. The red snake is now 11.293 points above the black line, 13 points above the purple snake, and 12 points above the orange snake that finished the year at 97 points.

This marks the 31st consecutive game above the black line, with a minimum of 9 (a new high) more games guaranteed. A record of 12-18-1 (0.403 point percentage) in the remaining 31 games would give the red snake 96 points. It is currently on pace for 114 points.

The 1988-89 Calgary Flames team achieved 117 points in 80 games. They had a record of 21-6-2 in games 52-80. The current team would need to go 23-8-0 in the last 31 games to tie the point total, while playing in 2 extra games. It would need to go 24-6-1 in the last 31 games to reach 120 points, and have the same points percentage. The 1976-77 Canadiens had a points percentage of 0.825. The 1977-78 Canadiens had a points percentage of .80625. The 2018-19 Flames have a points percentage of 0.857 in the last 14 games.

A win on February 1st will mean the red snake busts through another roof, and off the chart.

After tonight's Canucks game, all the Western Canada teams will be wrapped up for the break, could we get a Western Canada set when they are done?

Thanks chief snake charmer!

Nice! I love watching the Oilers and Canucks snakes trip over themselves in the race to suck.

The red snake and blue snakes have played 55 games each, while the green snake has played 56. The red snake sits 9.610 points above the black line, while the blue snake is 11.390 points below the black line. The green snake is 8.561 points below the black line, but is at least still in the picture in the extra crispy version.

Records to reach 96 points:
Red 11-16-0 (.407)
Blue 21-5-1 (.796)
Green 19-6-1 (.736)

Last year Anaheim had their worst year since 2011-12. They only tallied 101 points in the regular season and lost in 4 straight to the Sharks in the playoffs. It was the first time since 2011-12 that they didn't win the Pacific division. That's their worst season. In 7 years! It's why I take great joy in seeing this:
