Sekera will play his 3rd AHL game on Wednesday. Then league will listen to Oilers appeal for two more games. League is very rigid on this. They don’t want teams “hiding” players. Need to see clear reasons why vet would need two more games. #LTIRconditioningStint

I can't believe no one is talking about the most illuminating and damning point Hitch said in that post game conference.

He talked about 3 games on the road they were playing the right way and 'behaving' the right way. First game back home...no longer behaving like pros.

He's saying there are players in Edmonton who perform when the team has them under their thumb, curfews are in place etc. Once they get home and are on their own time, however...

To me, this is a huge admission from the coach.

It seems that the “Let’s showcase Talbot to trade and get cap space” play hasn’t worked. He plays despite being crappy and the Oil comment that they’ve reached out in an effort to re-sign him... GMs aren’t that stupid... at least the other 30 aren’t.

So they're trying hard to showcase Talbot and build up trade value. Otherwise they would've been starting the guy they just signed to a starter deal.

Not a bad move unless they end up trading for "now" pieces. Which is probably exactly what they're going to do.
