Just curious, where would you slot him in the Flames lineup? Does he play on the wing as well as center? I don't know much about him.

Hated him on the Ducks but he's been irrelevant ever since he went to Ottawa and then back to California. I guess Montreal just wants to get bigger?

Thompson has as a limited no-trade but has agreed to waive it for a trade to Montreal. Both teams I think still working on the deal.

At the 2018 draft, Flames sent the 2019 4th to the Habs so they could get another 2018 4th - the 122nd OA pick and draft Milos Roman

I feel like trading a 4th for a 5th is the kind of deal you make on draft day. Weird to see it now LOL. I'm pretty sure 4th and 5th round picks have nearly identical success rate

So the cost Nate Thompson is move down, give or take 6 spots. That seems really cheap for a serviceable NHLer.
