The first NFL coach to get fired is.....
Dennis Green in Arizona.
The Falcons have called a presser that just started. I would think Mora is gone as well.

I agree Mora will go too. Arthur Blank must have slept in today or something that he got beat to the punch by the Cards. Although watching the NFL shows yesterday, he wants to get a more marquee name in to coach the team and might still be looking around. He needs to find someone who can deal with Michael Vick...Don't know who that would be. Maybe he gives Steve Mariucci a chance?
Also, lot's of speculation that yesterday was Cowhers last game as Steelers coach. I haven't read many articals out of Pittsburgh, but is Cowher expected to resign? Given the history of the Steelers I don't expect they'd be firing him. They're one team who likes stability in the head coaching office.

Cowher will be coach of the Panthers before the decade is out.

Will Saban go? I guess ALA is making a formal offer to Saban today, despite all the statements otherwise.
If Cowher goes, look for him to do TV for a year IMO, get a rest, and come back to the highest bidder/ideal situation next year.

Mora is gone...just confirmed by Chris Mortensen.
Agree Dis....Cowher is all about North Carolina as his family stays here during football season apparently.
He was offered the NC State job a month ago but refused to talk about it while he was still coaching the Steelers. I would think he announces his resignation from Pitt. later today.

Apparently AL. is going to throw 40-50 Million at Saban...pretty hard to turn that down no matter what has been said the last month.
Cant see Huizinga(sp) trying to match it either.

A bit off topic, but I think you were right about Favre Tranny. From his post game comments he looks like he's already decided to hang em up.

Throwing a wild guess out there in the coach recycling department...Green to Falcons? Falcons have some attributes of the early-2000 Vikings which Green had success with.

Cowher bought a house in Raleigh, NC and his wife and daughter already live there. There was a lot of speculation that he would take the open HC spot at his Alma Mater NC St. With these facts and his contract being up that is where the speculation he could be done comes from.

If the Giants lose next week, does Tom Coughlin get fired as well? I would think the Giants have to be somewhat disappointed with this season, and how about Art Shell, will the Raiders keep him?

Looks like the Dolphins are looking for a new head coach as well. Apparently Saban has accepted the Alabama offer.

I see that NFL network is already mentioning that Marty could be out in SD, and he could end up in Miami.

I would hope not. That lose was not his fault at all. The play calling was fine and the players did not execute and made awful plays. It is not his fault that Florence head butted that guy or Parker didn't drop on that fumble. He can do nothing about the Brown strip.
Marty has his faults, especially in the past, but this loss was not his fault and he should not lose his job over it.

Apparently (according to NFL network) that Marty and the GM do not see eye to eye and do not get along at all. Which is huge factor in Marty staying in SD.
