just saw the 3rd goal from Labanc, couldnt tell but was that Mr. Wonderful 97 coasting well back in the play. if so, he is pretty lazy when he isnt on the offensive, although the Oilers announcers praise his d responsibility and two way game

As far as the (c)Oilers go, I don't want any favours from them, ever. I want the Flames to be completely separated from that terrible excuse for a franchise, as the Flames climb ever higher on the elite-team ladder.

More importantly, a big THANK YOU to BC-Chris and RicoSuave for facilitating the delivery of these beauties, which I finally picked up today!! Proud to be wearing this under my Flames jersey tonight!

(Thought the headgear was climate-appropriate for tonight! )

Spoiler!

They have 2 home wins since the middle of December, and one of those was a shootout win. 2-11-0 in their last 13 home games.

Wait, they started Talbot again? Is Koskinen injured? Because they don't play again until Wednesday...

Either they're going full tank or they don't want to look bad if Koskinen (continues to) crap the bed...

If you keep Mcdavid off the score sheet your chances of winning is 100%. They can't compete with the big boys. They now have to play Pittsburgh, Carolina and the Islanders on the road. This road trip will be the end of them. Goodnight Oilers. Have a happy draft day.

I think it’s one of two things:

(1) They’re trying to extend an olive branch after:

(a) Bobby Nic’s press conference
(b) “The Pull” the other night

...but more likely

(2) They’re showcasing him for the deadline.

It's been a problem for a long time. Either you cant imbed Twitter or you get floating ads that make the site unusable. As a bonus you'll get you might get your browser telling you the security certificate doesn't check out and if you have a firewall it might not let you access the site at all.

They gotta be 'showing him off' as trade bait at this point. That is the only possible reason.

Geez, Hitch didn't hold back tonight.

Quote:
At the end of the day we have to decide if we want to play the right way because it’s successful, or we just want to do our thing. Today was a game where we just wanted to do our thing,” he said. “To me, it’s priorities and what’s important. On the fifth goal: We just turned it over in the neutral zone and went dribbling to the bench. Just walked to the bench and changed. It can’t be acceptable.”

Quote:
“When you put skill ahead of work you get burned, and there’s just too much of that going on,” he said. “We address it all the time, we think we’re moving in the right direction and we just stumble badly. It isn’t even what the other team is doing to us, we just shoot ourselves in the foot.”

Quote:
With the score 1-0 for San Jose in the first period, Edmonton’s second best player, Leon Draisaitl, blindly turned a puck over in the offensive zone. Most times, the guy who turns the puck over checks the hardest. But Draisiaitl cruised back through the neutral zone, stopped skating at about centre ice, and watched as his guy (Evander Kane) blazed past, went in on net, took a pass and scored from the doorstep while completely unchecked.
It was flagrant nonchalance at a key point in the game by one of your best players. We asked Hitchcock afterwards: Is it worse when a leader makes a play like that?

“That’s a good question,” he mused, buying time to chose his words on a question that clearly struck home. “I think it’s a symptom of something much bigger. It’s priorities and what’s important. It just can’t be acceptable.
“At this time of year the coaches can’t want it more than the players.”

I expect Spector to be severely punished by the Oilers Gimp in the basement after this negative column.

An absolute roasting of his team in the press. It's a regular Saturday night occurane, though this one had some more bite then the last few Saturday blowups.

Oilers management is getting the blunt truth when they probably don't want to hear it, and they certainly don't want that message coming out the way it is from who it is.

Hitch daring them to change it up, but due to terrible contracts and decent players not willing to waive to go to Edmonton, their already incapable hands are further tied.
