Sometimes you win games you don't deserve to win, sometimes you lose games you do. Team lacked execution but I loved their forecheck and resiliency.

Also, I love Tkachuk and have his jersey. However, they really need to get him a player with offensive abilities. He seems to need someone and can't drive a line by himself. I really don't think his contract will be as high as some think.

I agree we have had some real warriors over the years. I just don't remember anyone taking the beating that Hamonic has this year. Its been ridiculous.

Oh and could we say his lack of puck control ended with Hamonic injured?
I’ll stop but man I am not comfortable at all with the tandem.

I'd be more than happy if they upgrade their goaltending. I'm just talking about tonight. Smith didn't let in any bad goals. He was fine. There have been lots of goals or games Smith deserves to be ragged on, tonight was not one of them.

A few mistakes and then a hot goalie. Oh well, hopefully they crush the Canucks. Might be the first round match up.

He just wasn’t the guy to put in. The odds of Rittich bouncing back after two mistakes are better than going with Smith

I just completely disagree. Rittich looked shaken after that bad first goal and he made a completely mindless error on handling the puck that led to the second. At that point Peters made the choice to pull him because he lost the plot mentally and was likely going to be an adventure the rest of the game.
It's a gut decision by Peters, and I really have no problem with the change. However, what I would have done if I were him would be to put Rittich back in net to start the second period. Give him the intermission to collect himself and see if he bounces back right away.
But I don't fault Peters for pulling him. Not one bit.

I think people need to keep in mind that Gaudreau’s scoring pace in January which led to a lot of wins was obviously not sustainable. The Flames will lose the odd game and Gaudreau can’t get 3 points every single game. Nobody can. Goaltending needs to be addressed and I’d be actually willing to go so far as to inquire as to what the kids on the farm could do.

No just poor coaching. Why the hell would he start Smith against the Caps. 7 game losing streak and without Ovechkin. and this pull was terrible. and we can say it is terrible because we saw the outcome.
