The problems in that period were predominantly caused by players not play in goal... Peters likely pulled Rittich as a message and a mercy as much as an indication of blame. He got caught at THE BLUE LINE... that’s not on him ffs no goalie should have to be there, period.

Yeah the goalie pull was a free timeout.
Didn't work, but Rittich didn't look like he had it tonight so I'm OK with the gamble.

The stars on this team need to show up, I’m liking the play of rest of the guys though Neal especially looking motivated tonight I smell some goals from his line tonight!

Agreed. Those long breaks seem like the kiss of death when your team is on a roll.

Gio says this will not stand! Look for a strong Flames effort in the 2nd.

Rittich basically scores one on himself and a terrible play on the Kane goal and some don't understand the goalie pull???
I wouldn't be surprised to see Rittich back in the 2nd, but he clearly needed a break to get his head in the game.
One of the worst periods I've ever watched Gaudreau play and I don't miss too many games.
Lots of game left to turn this around.

Fortunately coach possibly knows better?
Short hook on the young kid in net not a bad thing. No need to dent his confidence

That pull by Peters is really frustrating. How many times have we seen Smith let in weak ones, yet Peters continues to give him leash. I guess Peters isnt worried about killing Rittichs' confidence?

True, I mean its a bad play up the middle he did get the puck first but nobody was even coming back
first goal was bad though, I know there was a giveaway but they recovered, that is a bad goal

I believe we are going to see a ridiculously awesome comeback by the Flames.

Game definitely doesn't feel like it's over. Obviously the Flames need to score the next goal to get themselves back in the game. They've done it all season long.

Wills totally jinxed Rittich on the radio. Praised him on his home record, etc.

The entire team played with their head up their posterior.
If Gaudreau wasn't being stupid at the opposing blue line, the first goal doesn't happen. If the entire team wasn't being dumb the 2nd goal doesn't happen. The third goal was the team running around instead of being calm.
Hopefully they settle down soon.
One begins to wonder if the Flames may have become a little too comfortable with their positioning. They haven't played well at all in the 7 periods thus far since the break.

Wake up call for what? Rittich let in an awful goal on a non-chance and turned the puck over himself. The team was playing fine.
The goaltending change was completely related to Rittich's play, but he deserves a much longer leash than that.

It looked like Rittich pulled himself, not Peters giving him the hook.
