Not against moving the first, if it's for the right piece. Ferland or Simmonds? Love them but not for a 1st. Hayes or Stone? Bring it on

Might make it easier to sign Fox next year!

Don’t know the prices for rentals this year.

Personally I would pass, The Flames prospect pool with all of the graduations is looking weak.

Counterpoint: Tkachuk sets up one-timer for Stone to win the Stanley Cup - his 13th goal of the playoffs

If Treliving can parlay a roster player into a couple of second-rounders in the off-season to compensate for the loss of a first-rounder, then why not?

Can't be for a rental. Want a player with at least another year or two on a decent cap hit.

All in for Stone. Would be an absolute game changer. Find a way to sign him in the off season. A forward group of Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Stone, and even Bennett for the next 5 years keeps us legitimate. Especially with all the youth on the blue line. Plenty of time to restock the cupboards.

Watching CHI v MINN.

Both Dallas and Minn seem like they are much bigger than we are.

I’m on board with adding some toughness for the playoffs.

Exactly. Something like the Leafs Muzzin deal should be the target, and based on what they've said it seems like management agrees

As good as they are, the Flames get owned physically most nights. Look at the hit count vs the Caps. A bit of size and sandpaper would be welcome.

I hope if the pick gets moved that the team is able to keep that player long term. Stone would be so perfect but he is looking for north of $8M at least from the Sens. He might want to stay in western Canada on a legit contender for a discount?

TB is both one of the smallest and lightest teams in the league...

Paywalled, but for those with a subscription

https://theathletic.com/210035/2018/...ht-and-weight/

somewhat surprising, Calgary is the 4 tallest team...tied for 20th heaviest, but only 0.7 lbs per player more from being ranked 15th...

Couturier (wishful thinking) or Schenn would be ideal targets for me.
Both would be 1st +, but have term and reasonable cap hits.
