i just updated the post to show the split second when the puck was still on Wilson's stick
Smith had the clear view

No. It was neither "blatant" nor obvious. The play was onside.

Blatant means glaring, not intentional like you are implying here. Think 'blatant lie' or 'blatantly obvious'.

There are all sorts of ways to win in the nhl
Size
Speed
Skill
Tight d
The Flames win because of skill. Adding a guy won’t change them into a tough team
We’ve said this team has needed an identity for years. They have one. And more often than not that’s how they win
Don’t try and change that. They need to own what they are and beat teams on that basis

This is what happens in the playoffs though. Better get used to it.

Poor quality still, but you'll see Smith had a good view of the puck before Wilson's shot:
There was zero screen

Don't know how you can tell from that angle, unless you have some sort of fake CSI algorithm.

I've been told that I'm one of the most calm, level headed people around. After that 4th goal went in and the following shenanigans that ensued at the end of the game, my 14yr old son learned a few new words tonight and has now seen a new side of his father. Will now have to go to confession sometime next week.

Defending Stanley Cup Champions who have been playing like basement dwellers lately, and sat our their leading scorer for a suspension.
Not to diminish what they can do, but what they are lately is extremely beatable, and minus Ovechkin tonight.

Yeah... cuz text critic is always mis-correcting people on their use of the English language... get ready for a lesson.

So I see tkachuk and Orpik got fighting majors at the 20 minute mark
How does Tom Wilson get nothing?

When Smith allows 2 goals or fewer or stops over 90% of his shots then come talk to me about how he didn't cost the team a win.
Even one bad goal can be the difference. You can be average the other 59:59, but the one lapse made the difference.

Smith should have seen enough of the player and stick movement to read the shot, in my opinion. It was a well placed shot. Not brutal, but stoppable.
Peters is splitting the road games and wants to win in Carolina, of course he dresses Rittich for that game.

Wilson doesn't do penalties, only suspensions.

The refs had put their whistles away there all the way until the Backs penalty with 2 mins left, before that we were driving play and had some really good chances at going ahead late and if it goes to OT I don’t think Washington has the edge in play at that time. It’s the first game back in 10 days, we were competitive, didn’t have our starter in net, lost a top 4 D for half the game and lost on a questionable penalty call in the final minutes. Oh and the Flames are still in 2nd while Vegas lost 5-2 to the Canes too so it’s definitely not a ‘sky is falling’ loss.

The officials effectively killed the 2nd period for the Flames, but the Flames PK held strong...and then Smith allowed a shot from Wilson to get past him that had no business going in.
Flames work hard, tie the game and lose on a late goal against. It was a good shot, but Smith's goaltending style is fundamentally flawed. He sits deep in his net and never challenges shooters.

There will be no more accurate summary provided for tonight's game.

Seriously? You're seeing it from a completely different angle than Smith. That's how it's possible you can't tell what's in his line of vision. I mean, come on, it's not as cut and dry as you say.
