Smith is playing up to his potential allowing a goal every 4-5 shots.

Unfortunately the last minute goals have been on both our goalies, if it's on them I guess

Man, I don't know what some of you are watching. Smith stopped a shot that was deflected hilariously late en route to his goal, and he got the first rebound after the puck was bouncing around in his crease. By that point, he was still crouching -- not a flop in sight -- trying to find the puck in the midst of the traffic in his crease. At that point, it's long past time for a Flame to get that puck as far away from the net as possible, but both Flames defenders near the crease got turned around, and the puck bounced directly to Jaskin.
Blaming that goal on Smith is the definition of subjective viewing. Man, I'm sick of every goal being his fault. That one is almost 100% on the defense's terrible awareness.

1st goal was off his turnover, but was a while after and a close in tip.
2nd was a close in tip and 2 players got multiple whacks at the loose puck with bad defending.
Can't blame him IMO. The refusal to shoot for the majority of that period was the issue.

It's embarrassing as a fellow Flames fan to read sometimes.

I had nothing to say about the first goal. But on that second one he really should have controlled that rebound.

Neat! Smith's in net and a GT becomes filled with predictable, insufferable, repetitive whining about Mike Smith. News Flash, no one cares that you know Smith isn't the best, because we all know. Crying about it changes nothing.
Move on already.

Just got home, judging by the usual comments I'm guessing neither goal was Smith's fault?

He's certainly giving them no shortage of ammunition.
Goes both ways.

I know I don’t have to go home, but I have to leave.
Enjoy the game.
Kootenay was right.

Well I don't know what you were watching either. I have reviewed it multiple times and I see a guy who had a clear chance to cover that puck if he is not floundering around. A goalie with normal sound positioning stops that and covers it every time.

Mike Smith is nothing but back luck, bad karma for the Flames. And it is when he gives away these ties or go ahead goals.
The team is pushing the right way collectively and he goes the opposite direction, far too often. It has become Mike Smith's pattern.
Just cant stand him on the team any longer.

He made the save on the tip in front and then the first rebound. Really, what point would you blame the D if not then?

Wow those Caps announcers are absolutely brutal. Among the worst I've ever heard. Made me bored and tired listening to a couple minutes of them.

Man, can we get Gaudreauvertime in here or something? We need something that all of CP can collectively agree about.

I like how Backlund looks interviewers dead in the eye every time they're asking questions.
Most guys will look straight ahead or down.
I've strangely noticed this every time an interview with Backlund pops up.

Caps are so physical. Flames need to keep focusing on out-skating them, like Backs did. What a goal.

If any other player turns over the puck and it winds up in the net we will be talking about them in the GT too...especially if its a guy who has had a history of facking up this season
