The Canes bubble wrapping Ferland because they are worried about another concussion isn't what teams want to hear either. Nor Ferland, who will be looking to cash in this summer. Absolutely huge pass. He was moved in part for similar reasons in the first place, nevermind his extremely hot and cold finishing whilst playing with top of the league linemates.
The Muzzin trade now officially kicks off the over valuing and hyping of available players for the trade deadline. When average skill players suddenly grow enormous intangibles and have some advanced stats cherry picked to fit the narrative of fans of buying or selling teams. Ceci example 1a.
McCrimmon should be a smarter man than wanting the Greaser gig. First thing you get on day1 of the job is an earpiece with Lowe on the other end.

There’s so much focus on beyond this year and offseason. Enjoy the ride this year. Gonna be a fun one. Worry about next year in the summer

He isn’t out with a concussion. And wasn’t the time before.
Man people really like to write a narrative on Ferland here.

It's not a concussion. It's his back right now. Coupled with the Canes know they need to get a return for him as it os very unlikely the want to pay him next year.

Agreed. I am not familiar with those prospects, but anyone who is a first or second year nhler doesn’t need expansion draft protection, so would be great to get those types of players in a trade. With that said, all the GMs around the league will be thinking the same thing. Calgary certainly would not want to trade good young prospects for a roster player who will have to be exposed, or will bump one of their other players down who they wanted to protect.
It will be an interesting few years coming into the expansion draft.

Well, now, they wouldn't. But remember -- the E.D. will be in 2021, two years from now. Anyone in their first year this season will not be exempt by 2021.

Im almost certain Calgary won't pay the price for Ferland. I just hope a Western rival doesn't get him for the playoffs. Bennett wouldn't be able to handle him or anyone else on this team.

Lol Bennett can hold his own and Ferland is one bodycheck away from injuring himself again.

So how many games do first year players have to play this year to count as a ‘season’? Would it be 10 games? And would it matter how many games they play next year?
I guess I might be looking for a loophole. Like could I take someone on a two way deal and play them in AHL next year so I wouldn’t have to expose them?

Lol i doubt that as a fan of both players. Ignorance against Ferland on here is ridiculous.

Ok, well then go back to his third injury of the last two months. I'll let Ferland speak on his concern regarding this "narrative" 50 or so days ago. It was two injuries ago though, so I'm sure his concern about another concussion, by him and the club, are totally gone.

It is years on the ELC. A player can eat a year of ELC playing in the AHL. Doesn’t matter if he’s playing in the NHL.

Well, must mean his concussion is all healed and there is no more concern by him or the club for sustaining another one.

Thanks for clarification. So guess we would be looking for a draft pick in trades, that would be only way we would not have to worry about exposing them to the ED

Yup, he sure showed 'em the last time he played the Flames before the All Star break, with one hit, he sent Bennett out of the gam....wait, nevermind.

Does it really matter? he has been injured multiple times this season...its not a narrative the guy keeps getting injured. To doubt his durability is more than fair.
Neither of the two teams he has played for want to give him his UFA contract
