Default cuban vacation

Hi,

My buddies and I are planning a vacation to Varadero in feb. and I've been looking at a lot of hotel reviews and my head is spinning. So I was hoping that someone of you have gone and can give me an idea of where to stay and how it was for you?

We ( 4 guys) are looking for some place where we can have a lot fun at night. We don't want a quiet resort. We want to party I guess. But we are also out to see Havana and the country side.
Explore and snorkeling during the day and partying at night.

We are set on Varadero so I hope some of you can help.

Thanks

Cheese is your man. He is the king of Cuban vacations.

It would be so neat to be there (Cuba) when Castro kicks the bucket....

where is cheese? Haven't seen him around in a while..

We usually stay the Breezes Varedero.. And always have had a good time. Not a huge party resort though.. The rumba club(i think that is what it is called) is next door though. Also the golf course is right there.

I've been to Cuba twice now. Once to Veradero and once to Cayo Coco. When I went to Veradero I stayed at an Iberostar Resort. And it was very nice. Nice big rooms, awesome pools, bars, beach etc. It was a five star. The night life was kinda quiet. But we went a couple years ago when the resort was brand new, so I'm sure it's picked up since then.

Seeing Havana is a must. Our snorkeling in Varadero was weak at best. Our snorkeling at Cayo Coco was amazing. I've also heard good things about a nature excursion at Veradero. If you want to save money I would book as last minute as possible, and I wouldn't stay at anything less than a four star.

Do not stay at any Sandles resort in Cuba. My cousin just returned for a honeymoon there and has a hundred horror stories.

I stayed at the Hotel Villa Cuba when I went there, and would recommend it. Good food, atmosphere, beach, and the night life was pretty damn good. That was 7 years ago mind you.
