I love how he only played 32 games in total for the Flames but he's still more famous than most former Flames. He's a great guy. Glad he's doing well.

If you would have asked me, I would have said that Commodore played at least 2 seasons for us.
And I am pretty sure I saw him on the red mile (or at least at Cowboys) during the post season along with the rest of the Flames.

Commodore was a player that management felt didn't play a game that would transition very well from the old NHL to the new NHL, after the lockout (not unlike Ottawa with Chara).
Very unfortunate, because he ended up carving himself out a pretty long career.

It was hilarious. He's terribly self-deprecating.
"Oh, here's my jersey closet...14 teams in 14 years. I got traded a lot."
"You've probably seen episodes where people have a nice house, nice wife, kids...none of that here"

Really surprised that Commodore didn't end up with some kind of TV gig. Great personality, really funny and well spoken. He'd be a great broadcast color guy

Commodore is awesome. He was awesome for us in 2004x he is awesome now. Video proves it. Love the humility that came out and he does it in a funny way, that’s the way to be.

A while back he was on the Spittin Chicklets podcast and was telling a story about playing in the KHL. His team was located so far east, he was pretty much next to North Korea.
Every road trip started with an 8 hour flight west to Moscow for a connection.
Anyhow long story short one day he was very very jet legged and didn't want to stay in his apartment and sleep right away. He went out for dinner with another player who was Russian. They went to some really fancy restaurant and were crushing drinks like crazy and he went to the washroom and all of a sudden he got randomly jumped by some people. His teammate came and helped out etc, the fight split into the street. The GM of the team had to come bail him out of jail Russian Mob style etc.
The way he told the story of "getting in one" was really really funny but now its kinda taking a life of its own about getting smashed.
Sorry about the long post.

Commodore is awesome. Just a salt of the earth kind of guy.
He seems like he'd be a lot of fun to have a few drinks with.
That was a great video.

he tweeted the other day how he was headed to nashville (i think) for metallica and he asked if he should:
1. check into his hotel and work for the afternoon OR
2. go out and "floor it"
I am assuming he opted for #2

I thought it had more to do with him being a party animal. I seem to recall a spat between him and Andrew Ference about being professional.
I don't think Ference likes teammates who are partying too much.
