icon57 Flames assign Mangiapane and Valimaki to Stockton

no bye week for you! No surprise. Saves cap money and gets Valimaki playing again after his long recovery from the ankle sprain.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
.@CortexBusiness Transaction Alert: The #Flames have assigned Andrew Mangiapane and Juuso Valimaki to the @AHLHeat.

Wonder if Mangiapane gets the call to come back up after the break.

Heat play 2 games before the Flames game vs Washington on Feb 1, however both Mangiapane and Valimaki could be with the Heat longer than that.

Possible they rotate to another forward call up for Mangiapane and Valimaki might need more than 2 games.

It'll be tough decisions in February. Kylington has been really good, Valimaki was really good before his injury. Great problems to have.

Neal was playing great tonight. I really hope he can get some rest on this bye week, and can keep building on his recent good play.

James Neal will be the best pickup the flames make by the Trade Deadline.

Thiking this is more than just to keep them going during the bye week. Valimaki having a few weeks of action after that injury before coming back to the Flames might not be a bad idea. Mangiapane they're probably about to rotate another call up in anyway

Heat will have a lot of focused Flames eyes on them this next week and a half, guys looking to get that golden ticket call up, or, valued for their trade value.

Huh?

I thought Mangiapane is looking better and certainly looks more NHL ready than Dube right get now.

Although I think Quine is going to see some PT once waivers no longer an issue for him.

Why not send down the other youngsters for some extra playing time? Rasmus Andersson, and Oliver Kylington.

They've had a heavier workload and are deserving of a break. They don't need the extra minutes.

Probably because they are exhausted.
