Lots of UFC fans here...what are your thoughts on Saturday's matchups?
I am torn on the main event (Liddell vs Ortiz).
I hope Canadian McDonald can beat Leben and I think it could happen.
The Griffin fight should be good as well.
Overall, one of the best cards in recent memory. Thoughts/predictions?

I want to see Liddell wipe the floor with Ortiz... He's fought Shamrock three times in a row, and has had no real competition in a long time. Slap an attitude adjustment into the kid...

nate griffin is a warrior, hard not to cheer for that guy.

i loved that one match from the TV show qualifier when they both got the contract, wow now that's good competition.

lidell is tough to bet against, if he's given an opening it won't be wasted.

i'll have to catch this one, missed the last few

I want to see Ortiz win, but I don't think he will.

He also never fought Shamrock three times in a row. He fought 5 different guys between the first and 2nd Shamrock fight... nobodies like Couture, Lidell, Belfort, and Griffen.

Anyways.
My picks.
Eric Schafer Vs. Michael Bisping
Jason MacDonald
Vs. Chris Leben
Andrei Arlovski Vs. Marcio Cruz
Keith Jardine Vs. Forrest Griffin
Chuck Liddell
Vs. Tito Ortiz

Arlovski should walk through Pe De Pano, but the rest should be very competitive, pretty hyped for it. I'd love to see Tito win, it makes the division more interesting, but Liddell is going to win.

Random undercard predictions.
Yushin Okami Vs. Rory Singer - Really wish Okami would get on the PPV, UFC should start guaranteeing more then 5 fights, Okami is a legit guy at 185.

So, I really don't follow much UFC, but an old friend of mine gave me some videos to watch, and it was the pride league.... he says that they have challenged any of the ufc guys, but they won't accept...

Anyone know the deal? Whats the difference between the two leagues (other than one is more popular due to Spike tv?)

lol, your friend is, an idiot.

UFA and PrideFC are two MMA organizations, that's it. One is not better then the other. The UFC just signed Mirko Cro Cop, the guy who just won the Pride Open Weight Grand-Pre.

Basically this is what happens, everytime.
1. A person gets into MMA, they start by calling it Ultimate Fighting
2. A friend who is a snob tells them that UFC "sux" and Pride is "100x better maan"
3. New person gets into the cycle and thinks Pride is better
4. If they stick around long enough they realize MMA is MMA, one organization is no better then the other.

Pride has the Shockwave on Sunday, UFC has UFC 66 on saturday, get em both.

Pride is Japanese based, UFC is North American based. Both organizations have there pros and cons.

I am looking forward to UFC 66, for one reason alone.

The annoucment of the Cro Cop signing in the UFC, he will show everyone how terrible Tim Sylvia and 90% of the UFC's heavy weights really are.

Well, maybe two reasons... Watch the Huntington Beach bad girl get knocked out.

Predictions below:
Chuck Liddell Vs. Tito Ortiz
Keith Jardine Vs. Forrest Griffin
Andrei Arlovski Vs. Marcio Cruz
Jason MacDonald Vs. Chris Leben
Eric Schafer Vs. Michael Bisping

I think Forrest Griffin will have alot better chance on winning then Nate Griffin. Its tough to call because anything can happen in a fight. But Lidell should win,and I hope MacDonald can pull it out, although Leben is alot tougher than Ed Herman.Regardless its gonna be a dandy.I definately agree with the heavywieghts being a weak division,Sylvia's time is gonna be up very soon.

I used to hate Tito a lot more than I do now. His image was softened quite a bit on TUF but I still hope that Chuck knocks him out! I also like Bisping and I think that he'll take care of business.

I've never seen this heavyweight fighter that some of you are talking about, but I can't stand Tim Sylvia. I would like anyone to take him out (even Monson would've been good!).

Hopefully this one is a good card for a change though.

Good lord. Did you see the size of that black guy he dummied near the beginning of that video? Wow.

Would love to see MacDonald win again.

Aside from that I don't care too much. Ortiz vs Liddell will be OK. Jardine sucks. Arlovski vs. PeDePano should be pretty decent, although I think Arlovski wins by ref stoppage. I really like Bisping too.

The Pride event on Sunday looks OK as well....nothing too earth shattering there either. Get to see Fedor punch Mark Hunt in the face a lot.....of course Hunt is nearly impossible to knock out. Probably another GnP ref stoppage. Also, it's always fun to watch Gomi fight....Samurai Spirit baby!

I think the fight of the night at the Pride event will be Barnett and Big Nog again....their match at the Open Weight GP was pretty fun to watch.

Pride might be in trouble though, starting to lose some top level guys. Dan Henderson has apparently just signed on to be a coach in the IFL, couple that with losing CroCop to the UFC and they might be showing signs of trouble.

I agree with you guys

• Hate Tim Sylvia (too bad Snowman couldn't have beat his ass!)
• Would like to see Tito win, but there is no way he will be able to get past Chuck
• Bisping should win his fight pretty easily

Eric Schafer Vs. Michael Bisping
Jason MacDonald Vs. Chris Leben
Andrei Arlovski Vs. Marcio Cruz
Keith Jardine Vs. Forrest Griffin
Chuck Liddell Vs. Tito Ortiz - picking Tito as Chuck wasn't as sharp his last fight (kind of like Hughes, GSP looked great, but Hughes was pretty lacksadasical his last few fights, needed a good wake up call) and I think Tito has trained his ass off for this one.

I personally would think it was funny as hell if Sylvia went on to beat CroCop, just because of the hate most people throw his way. Sylvia is a smart fighter. Yes, he's boring, he does the bare minimum to win, but he wins nonetheless.

Is the Cro-Crop signing official? I would love to see him in the UFC. They definitely need new blood in the heavyweight division.

I think that's why people don't like him, myself included. He fights not to lose, instead of fighting to win.

There really should be a constant MMA thread.

Wow is right. He looked like that guy from the Green Mile. That Cro-Cop guy sure knows how to throw that boot. Ouch! You don't see that kind of thing too often in the UFC.

Btw, Spike is pretty much the UFC Channel now. Last night there was UFC stuff on pretty much constantly, but no one was even fighting. It was like one long commercial.

You see it, but Cro Cop is a master of it. You'll see it alot more now that he is in the UFC.
