I agree with GGG. A vote up for grabs is more valuable to the scum than to the townies based on numbers alone. I think you should choose another way to decide your vote.

My initial read on Fuzz was leaning strongly town, but I don't like this last post at all. Avoids taking responsibility for a vote, plus will be making what will likely be a pile-on vote, which could potentially tip the scales.

When you add on the assumption that it makes people less likely to vote for them plus they wanted an "immunity" for the next round it seems like a pretty mafia plan to me.

It works great either way for a mafia as well, especially if they were the proxy. If it hits a townie and they get lynched Fuzz just points at whoever picked the vote. If they hit one of the other mafia by mistake, he can say he wouldn't have voted for them if he was mafia and push for confirmed town status.

It would mess up voting history buy "buying" your vote.
Take me for example: (although it's early in the game) If I get voted out, later on in the game people can look at who jumped on my vote and how. My death would possibly give my fellow Flames fans voting history on the bad guys. If someone continuously votes for Flames fans, people can look at that and possibly deduce who is scum. Or you can look at who started the bandwagon with my death to be possible Edmonton jerks.

day 1 is always so random with no clues and patterns yet. For now, I'll throw a vote towards WinnipegFan. Only one fluff post so far, time to get involved.

vote: WinnipegFan

I think his excuse is he's new to the game. Which is understandable.

It would have been interesting to see if anyone jumped at the chance to get Fuzzs vote on their side, could have been a small tell.

I think that idea is out of the window now

I don't think a mafia player will be posting less frequently. I would think their mafia pals would be prompting them to post, or messaging the mod for a replacement.

Unless Fuzz retracts his offer, I think we need to take him at his word. We want a majority consensus on what to do with it, to ensure that it is town-controlled. Perhaps the simplest and easiest approach is to agree that none shall vote during the offer window, but we could also perhaps arrive at a group decision on where the vote should go.

maybe. When I was scum, we spread out: we had a vocal one, a silent one and a couple in the middle who tried to blend in IIRC. Either way, if the vote triggers a reaction and more involvement, I'm good.

Just wondering if we can try to keep the theme going, so instead of town and scum or whatever, it's Flames and Oilers(or trolls, Greasers etc).

I usually find at least one lurks in the weeds and he/she has not been engaged at all after throwing one aggressive post. I think this early in the game it is a crapshoot but so far they have contributed nothing so I will help put pressure on.

If that gets more activity from the player, it might work.

They have not been on since around their only post.

It is such an odd play that makes me think he is just an inexperienced Flames fan. I'm not sure an idea like his makes it past their other forum.

I remember playing as mafia in a past game though, and I was very conscious about making sure I was posting enough. I guess I can't project myself onto others, but the more I think about it, the less I'm liking votes against less active players at the start. That strategy hasn't worked yet, and I stand by my reasoning that inactive is more likely to be town as the obligation to a larger team is less.

In terms of the Fuzz post - I think he's town just trying to spice up the game a bit. The first day of my first game was a bit overwhelming and nerve racking trying to pick who to vote for. I like the suggestion of having no one vote during that period to avoid any complications in determining how votes came together.

I think so. But the first day is always particularly awkward, as there is no "who would kill player X?" to discuss.

Everyone needs to get votes in before the end of the day so we can start getting toward a Ban. The deadline comes fast and if people aren’t around and haven’t voted we get the risk of a no lynch which in general is a bad outcome for the town

As for Fuzz I won’t be participating in using his vote.

Isn't the vote deadline Thursday night? Or is there a bit of a process that happens over the next couple days?

The vote deadline is Thursday, but to get one person to 5 votes for the deadline takes a while and there generally is a lot of swapping and discussion of which trains can actually get to 5 votes and which people don’t have enough support to Ban.

So if everyone hasn’t voted by the end of today I worry we end up in a rush lynch of a lurker or a no lynch. The more time we have with everyone’s votes on the table the better the quality of discussion and the bigger trail that is created later on.

Unbolded your votes to prevent confusion. Oling said to put your vote in it's own message with nothing else. I have no idea if he will be strict about it but just a heads up.
