They should have been the laughing stock of the League for the past 11 years but they were always begging for smoke to get blown up their asses.

"Fall for Hall!"
"Fail for Nail!"
"We're going to lose our way to the Cups!!"
"1984!!!"
"They're building something special!"
"Not when but how many?"
"Best player in the world!! OMGZ!!1!"

The media couldnt glob on to the Oilers' knob fast or long enough for over a decade and every time the roof caved in on their heads they just shuffled off to the next rebuild project and re-built 'something special.'

Looks good on all of them. They'll get not an ounce of sympathy from me. I love that the Flames are kicking ass and taking names while the Oilers are pathetic.

Nice building though.

Oilers castoff Drake Caggiula living the dream on Blackhawks’ top line

What a month for Drake Caggiula.

The guy gets traded from Edmonton to the Blackhawks, then spends a week in limbo waiting for his work visa and now he’s playing on the top line with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews.

Sound unbelievable? It does to Caggiula.

“It’s a pretty cool thing,” he said. “I grew up idolizing them. The biggest reason why I went to North Dakota was because of Jonny Toews, and I used to watch Patty Kane’s highlights on YouTube, then go in my basement and try to copy them.

When you escape the Oilers, even playing in the last place team in the NHL is "living the dream". LOL!

Nice to see Toronto writer Damien Cox has realized E=NG.

"It was an utterly remarkable comment made by one of the NHL’s biggest superstars.

Not to mention a shocking indictment of the entire Edmonton Oilers organization, top to bottom.

“We’re not going to out-skill anyone,” Oilers captain Connor McDavid said on Monday.

A franchise that drafted first overall four times from 2010 to 2015, and in the top five slots two other times (2014, 2016), doesn’t have the requisite skill in its lineup in 2019 to put on a show?

Those priceless draft opportunities were supposed to create another run-and-gun dynasty in Edmonton, not a mediocre team that believes scoring more than two goals on any given night is reason for a celebration."

I wonder how the Captain's team mates feel about 'ole Connor telling the world that the Oilers "aren't going to out-skill anyone"?

Isn't the loose translation of that: "I'm really good, but most of these guys kind of suck"?

Well, Stauffer did say McDavid was embarrassed by his skill.

Easy mistake for Bobby to make... he meant his team, not himself...

I think that is a shot across the bow of management. The "core" of the team has dwindled since their playoff appearance. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see management turning assets with value into a fraction of what that value was. Or in Eberle's case, a negative value. Eberle was traded away for air taking up cap space.

A really poor performance tonight while the ink is still wet on that glorious contract would be so much fun!
He has nothing to play for now. He's set.

To give it perspective. Oilers have 45 less goals than Calgary #2 in the league. Eberle has 11 goals on a down year. Hall has been hurt but still has 11 goals in 33 games on a down year. Barzal, one of the picks for former Oilers legend Griffin Reinhart has 13 goals. This is literally 35 goals thrown away for nothing (even considering down years), putting the Oilers solidly in the top 10. We can't even talk about cap space being an issue because Chia brought pylons like Lucic, Spooner and Manning are eating up most of the salary

Chia had to do absolutely nothing except keep status quo and he would have had a much better team today then he does now. #chiahappens

Chia is just following the Oil Motto: "there is no greater springboard to success than failure." Chia is just setting everyone up for constant success!
