Treliving should claim Justin Falk and call Benning immediately

You could say that about alot of old Oilers. They seem to turn into players on other teams.

You could, but is this your argument for picking up Rattie?

i could see Vancouver picking up Rattie to see if playing under green and with Baertschi can restart his career

Was Rattie not playing okay before Hitchcock was hired?

All of aspects of McDavid's game are only good, not great. Couple that with playing a season worth of ice time in 50 games and no sign of help anywhere... it's seems obvious they have simply beat him into submission.
Though TC will not agree, the only thing that might save the Oilers is trading McDavid.
I cannot agree. No one can save them. No one.

No. Not really. He is a NHL/AHL journeyman. He always has been, and I suspect he always will be.

There was a line on an Edmonton radio show this weekend that the Oilers want to send Sekera down to the AHL for a conditioning stint. Apparently he is close to being ready.

However, in order to do this they have to activate Sekera before sending him for conditioning.

Apparently they cannot activate Sekera because they do not have the cap space to do so.

So they need to clear cap space to allow their #1 defenceman to be activated to go to the AHL on conditioning before coming back to the NHL after ~14 months.

Did you ever hear the story about the guy that turned a red paper clip into a house?

Chiarelli wasn't him.

Think the poster is saying it's just not a good argument for staying from former Oilers.

The reason to pick up Rattie is depth, similar to a Quine kind of move. But picking him up on waivers means keeping him on the big club which doesn't make much sense. Too bad because at a minimum Stockton could use him.

It's ok to look, but don't touch. If you touch it, you'll be the one accused of breaking it and have to buy it.

I never thought I would see the day that the Oilers would hire a GM that would be more destructive than Kevin Lowe, but I hoped and I prayed and along came Chia #twiceblessed

I see Ty Rattie only played 5 games for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2016-17.

Would love to see an ATL for this waiver wire.

No thanks. If he isn't good enough to stay on the Oilers then I don't want him here.

Nah Stockton is one of the higher scoring teams in the AHL. If anything they need defencemen badly.
