Anyone watched the sit down with Gaudreau and David Amber on Sportsnet Central about 20 minutes ago?

Looks to be in a Flames /Saddledome board room, and over Johnny's shoulder is a big picture that looks to be the infamous Niuewendyk no goal a against the Oilers in Game 1 1991. That picture was a smoking gun as it was in the Sun on the cover the next day, clearly showing it was in. Flames lost that game.

It starts the 2:14 mark here.

Just odd that the Flames would have such a big picture of that particular play, though that play was cited partially when the league started reply a few years later.

You don’t need their vindication. Just enjoy the show.

Even Monahan has more points than anyone on the Leafs

I don’t care about plus/minus as a personal stat, it’s basically useless, but the combination of multiple players from the same club demonstatrates a good hockey team because it’s just another example of having an elite goal differential as a team. We just outscore other teams by wide margins.

So McDavid got cut (twice I believe), skated around super fast for like 23 minutes, and didn't get any points and lost.

Truly a tale of blood, sweat(pants), and tears.

Not sure if mentioned, but Backlund's goal was his 300th point. On replay you could see he wanted someone else to pick up the puck after the goal.

Yep.
Pretty awesome experience. First win at this arena.
Felt like Oiler fans were avoiding eye contact after the game lol.

Although, I think this game still ranks second to the Rexall massacre with the Stajan penalty shot goal.

Lol, Oiler fans are beyond delusional. That's a truly bad hockey team, and they're probably not making the playoffs. My guess is the two wildcard spots will be taken by either Minny, Dallas, or the Ducks. Hell, even the Canucks have a better shot than the Oilers at this point.

Here's the interview: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...te-nhl-moment/

It definitely looks like that photo. It would be hilarious if the Flames had a wall of photos of all the times they got screwed out of goals by bad calls in the playoffs. You could have the one in 1990 Game Six OT where the puck was clearly in the goal but was called no goal; Nieuwendyk's in 1991; Gelinas' goal in Game Six against Tampa; and Bennett's one against the Ducks in 2015.

Eh, it'd triple the length of the clip and shrink the resolution as a result, and he doesn't celebrate after picking the stick back up. So I think for a win GIF it works better just as he's dancing.

I have a good feeling about this one! I decided to play NHL 2009 on my computer today, first time in 2 weeks, and only my 4th game with my new laptop that I've had couple months now. I created a new season, fantasy draft, and I'm the Oilers, of course. When I played today, it was the Flames! And I crushed them 14-2. The three stars were my top line: Shanahan, Crosby, and Hemsky. I think this is a good omen for the real life Oilers tonight.
