Deserved to win. Didn’t. Still got a point.
Rittich needs to be better. A few softies in the last few games.

Same scenario the Oil got playing us last time...brutal scheduling.

This could be a bit of a perfect storm. Lots were worried (including coaching staff) that the team was winning despite playing to less than their ability. They only allowed two shots in a third that they went into tied, but will now totally agree they need to be better. BSD allowed two goals that weren’t whiffs (even if they were saveable shots by a goalie a peak performance) on only two shots. He will agree that he can be better. The loss wasn’t enough to cripple anyone’s confidence, but was the perfect reminder that every inch has to be earned, and nothing can be taken for granted. Here’s hoping they come out fired up and we see a two part show this weekend.

If the guy stopped all of the shots the backseat goalies (who apparently can’t tell what is expected to be stoppable and what isn’t), he would have a bloody absurd .980 sv%
It’s stupid

Wow, we got beat by the Sabres. Not sure I want to watch those highlights. Put this one behind us, onward and upward.

Flames deserved to win based on play. Sabres goalie made a couple of 10 bell saves. Blocker on Tkachuk was as improbable as a Scorpion save

All I'm going to say is that overtime goal was a really good goal. Yeah, Rittich got beat, but I was there and right on line with it, and Eichel put that puck into a 4 inch window. It was way more about a great shot than a bad save.

It wasn't a bad game by the Flames by any means though. Dominated the game for the most part. It's a fluke, it happens.

You did not like the OT goal eh, was that the soft one?
Rittich was fine in my opinion, Ulmark was lights out, that is the difference in the game.

The leagues best teams play their back up against the weaker opponent, and that would be Detroit at home vs. the Oilers on the road.

Flames didn't get one save after the 2nd period and got a point...shows how much Buffalo fluked out. One of those games. 9 out of 10 times Flames win that game, move on

Gained a point on the Sharks so that's nice.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Ullmark deserves a lot of credit. He played well and when he found himself in trouble positioned himself to push Flames players shots to the corners. Kylington hits the post, Frolik fires in into his glove, and he sprawls to move Tkachuk off his forehand. Guy had a good night.

Boomer when discussing this OT loss where the opponent scored 3 goals on 3 shots the rest of the game after the 2nd period for referred to Rittich as "any save Dave?" this morning. I thought that was funny.

Ullmark was the single biggest difference maker last night. I wonder if they'd part with him if they're out by the TDL. Unlikely as he's an RFA. But having a back up like Ullmark would be incredible going into the playoffs.

Flames didn't look overly sharp, lots of turn overs and missed passes.
Thought they looked off for most of the game.

Yeah, the guys on the radio are basically idiots.
There is more to the game than what you see on the stat sheet
That’s where they struggle
