Never underestimate the motivation of a group of players who want to showcase themselves to up their trade value.

7-2 Oilers? This is their Stanley Cup tonight. Their fans should embrace this game. Keep it on the PVR.

A lot of Oilers looking to get noticed as a throw in for the upcoming further decimation of the kiddie pool of prospects, and Talbot.

If the flames don't put up at least 5 on this Sabres team i'll be disappointed.

They should fold the franchise if this transpires.

I can't watch this anymore, congrats greasers you're only a piece or two away from being contenders. Trading your 1st and a couple of prospects for rentals would be a wise move.

Edit: Dumb penalty wow

They never looked that great to me, even on their winning streak. Regression to the mean of their talent, I'd say

Cup parade back on again!

Getting blown out by these clowns? Yeesh...this has to be rock bottom for the Sabres. Just embarrassing.

Yup, lots of OT wins, high shooting percentage, etc... they were definitely due for regression.

Still a good season for them - they've taken a step forward. Now we'll see if they can continue to advance next year.

I love how the Oilers are up 7-2 and they’re still wheeling McDavid out there every second shift with three minutes left. Truly hysterical stuff.

How the mighty have fallen. The Sabres and Make Beliefs have crashed back down to earth with a thud.

Uhhh no Kevin Quinn, they’re not in a wildcard spot as Minnesota has a game in hand. Nice try champ.

The current playoff teams in the WC might look pretty much like this, though they might jostle for positioning. This will be an easy year for the Oilers to make it in, but I don't think they will. If there is one team that is out right now that I think can make it, it is the Blues. They are starting to get on a bit of a roll now, and that team SHOULD be way better than what they are.

Oilers just don't have the depth. Anaheim is a broken team all-around. Vancouver is a surprise at how competitive they are this year, but it seems like they are running on fumes at times.

Will be surprised if the Oilers or Anaheim make it. If I had to choose between the two, I would pick Anaheim simply because we have often seen this story before from them. However, they are the 2nd lowest scoring team in the league this year. Just too many seasons where too many players are getting injured, and it may just have caught up with that team this year.

Good. Playoffs without that dirty team is just what this league needs
