Yeah I don't think many people really "like" Murray. That's a real head scratcher of a claim for me to read as well.

Throw away the tantrums from a few years ago and you've got a game that everyone should deeply respect and work ethic on the court unlike any other. There may never be a harder worker than him on tour again. It's also quite sad to see someone lose their ability to compete at an age when they should still be making a lot of noise. Players that don't work even half as hard as Murray should be taking this news as a major wake up call to start giving it their all, you never know when the body will say no more.

I thought he was so crusty when he first started to make waves on tour. But like anyone, you grow up. Over the last few years, I've garnered much respect for his support of women's sport, and not just tennis, without prompting.

It's interesting to look back at the ebbs and flows of his career. Once he finally won Wimbledon, it's like he started to relax. Maybe relax isn't the right word. I can't think of how to describe it.

Davis Cup, Olympic medals, on top of his Grand Slam hardware. Impressive.

If interested, TSN1 is showing last year's Aussie Open men's final (Fed vs. Cilic).

never easy on the first day of a major.

(14) Goerges (who beat Andreescu in the Auckland final) is in a tough 3 setter

(19) Ball-Basher Basilashvilli is fighting in a 3rd set against a qualifier.

(14) Tsitispas and (20) Dimitrov both lost their first sets.

Goerges is this close to self-destructing but holding on.

That's the young kid Eubanks who eliminated Felix.

Does anyone care what any of the great players records are against players outside the top 70 at majors - meaningless.

Did I ever say he could beat the top 4-5 players on tour on any day, no. I did say that he has results to prove he is not simply a non-factor and about to be off the tour altogether as you wildly suggest. You can't honestly be surprised that a player isn't beating many people ranked ahead of him when he's leveled off as a 15-20 ranked player can you? Those stats are so typical of any good player who has peaked on tour. If he were knocking off better players with regularity, he would be in the top 10 conversation!

Kyrgios has been a top 30 player since 2015 with the same issues and work ethic problems he's always had. It may not happen right away but it's more than fair to assume he'll be right back into the top 30 as soon as he get's past his injury problems that slowed him down last year.
Wow takes guts to post again after I just destroyed your argument. Is he your cousin?

Enough talk about this dbag. There is no personal vendetta. He won't be around past the first 3 nights. He can't beat anyone good. He doesn't give 2 craps about tennis so why should anyone give 2 craps about him. He can go sell basketball shoes with Kyrie Irving the rest of the year.

Another seed falls on the women's side as Maria Sakkari eliminates #22 seed Jelena Ostapenko in three sets.
