Rittich when asked if he was sore after the game:

"I'm fine. It wasn't that bad."

And then he just laughs. Such a weird dude, but I love him.

This was not a convincing win from a top team. I told you in the GDT the Flames don't perform well against middle teams, and I was right. Have to be better.

I didn't hear Campbell, and was mostly just commenting on the stick-check. I don't believe Yandle was targeting the hands.

Man in the last two decades I've often stared at the records of teams at the top of the standings and thought "man it must be fun to win that much"
And here we are.
16 games over .500. 16! More than twice the wins than regulation losses
That's nucking futs.

For what it's worth, that's what I thought she meant. That it was a frustration move and he promptly gave the refs an earfull right after.

IMO, that's even worse, Panarin scored already and he still tomahawk him.

Yup.

16 points up on 9th place. Pretty lofty spot before the 50 game mark of a season.

This is fun.

It's a fine line in the NHL...top teams have close games or even lose to poor teams all the time.

Tampa needed OT to beat the Panthers in their last meeting, not very convincing?

When the Flames play better teams they are better. Consistently.

This was not a masterpiece by any stretch, but it was far from "shaky." I think it is really difficult to be engaged in every single game, and when the competition is not there it is not at all unusual for players to slip a bit—even in spite of themselves.

I think he comes across as weird because he is really bad at english. He's looking for words but he can't find any. He covers it up with being goofy which is really likeable.

Wasn't it Darryl Sutter who said something similar? Team gets on a roll and then thinks they know everything and starts tuning out the coaches....

(Maybe said by every coach everywhere when their team wins a bunch and starts to get sloppy at times?)

--

When the Flames play the "fast game" - which they did as soon as Fro scored - they are unbelievable. THAT is when they are at their best. When they allow other teams to dictate the speed and pace of the game they're not so good.

They need to figure out how to change the tempo on their own.

Man, I love Peters' honesty and that he still isn't satisfied. And he's totally right. The guys definitely need to clean up some parts of their game going forward.

Default Calgary wins. For real this time. 4-3 Flames W over Florida!

It’s so nice to have a coach who consistently hits the nail on the head. He’s totally in tune not only with this team but also how to win in this league, in general.
