Troy brought the 16-17 version of the Flames with him to the dome tonight. That period looked a lot like last year's end of the season team. No drive, passing or shooting. Yikes

I've got this great idea for a line that I think has been successful in the past, put Frolik with Backlund and Tkachuk and try it. Just for a period to see what happens.

As someone who watches every game closely, it has been quite a while since the flames have been playing the way they did early in the season where it was constant pressure and putting goals on net at least for 2 of 3 periods. I haven’t seen it at all in the last several games except for little short blips. The last time they looked like it was the 3rd period against Chicago.
They definitely need a wake up and it may be the need for a losing streak or something because you know they want to win and are trying but at the same time are out of sync and don’t have that same mentality. They are not using their speed advantage like earlier.

Well they should come out in the second well rested...
It wasn’t terrible but it was just pretty pedestrian, I’m not even worried bsd looks pissed and he plays well when pissed and that will ignite a spark in the rest. Their biggest problem is still playing down to their opponents when they should be blowing their doors off. Bill will sort them out in the second the dude is a wizard.
Not worried if they come out fast in the second.
