What a great prime time game
Now all the Jets have to do is beat the pathetic Raiders.

I have a really bad feeling…it would be in Jets Fashion to lose this game and disappoint us fans yet again

For the AFC, I hope the JETS don't make it. They were lucky with a soft schedule, but I'd rather have the Bengal / Broncos / Titans in the playoffs; they deserve it a lot more, and would make for stronger matchups.
The NFC, on the otherhand, is horsecrap. None of the bubble teams deserve to be in the playoffs.

At this point I don't see how the Jets and Bronco's don't get into the playoffs. They both have home games against teams who are out of the picture. San Fran might give the Bronco's a bit of a headache as they do play hard, but I still think Denver will win that game considering what's on the line. I have to admit that when I saw Cutler heave that 70 yard throw last week against Arizona you realize what else he can bring to their offence. The Jets on the other hand can punch their ticket as you know Oakland won't score a single point and will turn the ball over in their own territory at least twice. Jets may not take the game as easily as they should, but honestly they're not going to lose to the Raiders.
In the NFC you likely have Dallas playing an easy game against Detroit so they can still pressure the Eagles to beat Atlanta. The other wild card is a complete mess though. The Giants seem to have the inside track if they win, but they're a mess right now and they're going into Washington to play a division rival who'd love to knock them out. After the Giants I think it's the Packers who'd come next, but they play at Chicago. Even though the Bears have nothing left to play for they might try hard enough to keep Green Bay out. Key thing here is both teams will know exactly what needs to happen before they play this game since they're the flex game. Carolina has to go into New Orleans to play the Saints who have nothing to play for as well as their fate is sealed. But teams don't like to head into a bye without winning their last game and the Panthers had to run 52 times last week against Atlanta to win with Chris Wienke throwing 7 times for 32 yards all game. Also I can't see the Saints wanting to allow a potentially dangerous team like Carolina into the post season with a free pass. The Panthers could potentially get in and they're a team that would be 2-0 against the Saints. It could bite them in the ass at some point in time if they don't take them out now. I've already stated that I think Atlanta will lose to Philly who want to win the NFC East and get the right to face the ######bag 8-8 Wild Card team. So that leaves St.Louis as the last pretender for that spot. The Rams have to go into Minnesota to play an eliminated Viking team who will start a rookie QB and who had like 100 yards offence against Green Bay last week. It's an early game so the Rams will have a chance to put on the pressure with a win.
The way it's gone I wouldn't be surprised to see all of those teams lose and the Giants get in with a 7-9 record due to the best NFC record and toughest strength of schedule over Green Bay. But I think that St.Louis can win their game and they hold a tie breaker over Green Bay and that brings them to Seattle next week.

They're playing the Raiders. They'll be fine.
It's like a bye week. Seriously.

Anyone else hoping the Packers sneak in that last spot in the NFC, just so Favre can go out in a playoff game rather than on the road in Chicago?
Obviously I am a fan of the club and have been for more than 3 decades, so my reasons are transparent. Just curious of others want to see one of the best of all time have one last swan song.

No. Only because I really doubt this is Favre's last season. He's just playing with the media again. I want to see them get in just out of spite towards the Giants.

Yep, but I don't think he's done.
Definitely rooting for them.

no way. Is Theismann the most intelligent guy in the world? Nope (just see the Norman Einstein comment....). But he's miles ahead of TO in intelligence.

Funny, I do think he is done....but if they make the post season, then it may change.
I understand he is facing a rather minor but nasty surgery following the season, and that is what i think makes his mind up for him.
Truth be told though....that young, but getting better every game, front 5 of his, may be enough to persuade him. Certainly the defense has made huge strides this year and actually look good.

Add in a Greg Jennings (despite his second half) and a somewhat rejuvenated Ahman Green (who may or may not be re-signed) and I think it will be enough to entice him to give 'er another go.
I just wonder...why play this year knowing the team was bad (better than expected IMO) if you're not going to see it through to where they may actually have a legit shot at the playoffs?

I wouldn't mind seeing it happen. I still think Brett has a lot to offer to the NFL, but he is a guy who probably can't accept not being able to play at a really high level like he once did. Plus I think he wouldn't want to wear any other uniform other than Green and Gold and he'd be in tough for his job next year.
Still I think he's only like the same age as Trent Green. And he'd be a hell of a lot better in KC's offence than Green is. I like Trent Green, but he's not the same player now as he was last year. Chiefs need to cut Green in the offseason and seek out a younger replacement of some sort. Watching Green the past few weeks he can't make throws he could make last year, and it's not like he ever had what you'd consider good arm strength. Personally I think that concussion along with age has done him in.

I'd actually like to see what the Chiefs could do with Brodie Croyle. Kid looks like he's got some talent.

The officials have totally destroyed the Broncos/49ers game.
Unbelievable.
