Last 10 games = 2-8-0

Or to put it another way, 4 out of 20 points.

Or, .200 hockey.

Or, No Good.

If anyone is looking for a good laugh and prime examples of oiler fans arrogance and complete over confidence in what they thought they had for a team and how much better they were then the flames, have a read through the comments from that specter article posted earlier.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...attle-alberta/

Anyone who was getting tired of this thread and piling on the Oilers should rethink that notion after reading these comments. This fan base honestly deserves no mercy.

Here are a few of many many gems.

@Oil Spilly a season long slump?......do you think that has anything to do with the fact that Hartley coached a style of play that had no structure and gulu is a coach that implemented structure as the majority of coaches do. Now that gaudreau has responsibilities that go beyond skating around like he has bees' chasing him, he is lost. This is the beginning of what johnny really is...a 45 50 point scorer that is perennial minus player.......lol.....

ES

@Hanson Brother In Linus Omarks 1st yr with the Oil he had 27 pts in 51 games and was -16.

Goo has 29 pts in 39 games and is -15 with 59 giveaways.

Sure glad the Oil didnt throw $6.75M per for 6 yrs at Linus like CAL did with Goo.

To all the Oilers critics

That's for pointing all out the benefit's of winning all those draft picks. The down side is having folks like you kicking us when we were down for such a long time. Sorry buddy, we aren't in that position anymore.

Flames are a mess, from president down to coaching.

I wonder when Eric Francis will be writing an article stating were still waiting for the High end talent to round into form because 1/2 of the season was not a long enough time frame for that talented core.

Treviling has put together the most overrated over paid defence in the NHL. This is going to be a cap management nightmare.

Tkachuks face after Klefbombs goal......lool! 2nd in league with an astounding 90 mins of PIMS.....a total liability to his team. And this is 1st line material?

Any more questions about what Lucic brings to the team?
The big difference between Chris Neil and Lucic is that Neil hasn't scored more than 16 goals in an entire season over a 1000+ game career. Lucic is a regular contributor in scoring, a net front presence of and he is 15th in the league in hits.

@blobbo - Flames goaltending is terrible. But Monahan isn't a first line center, and the defense isn't great after Gio either.

Ha ha....the Flames are history for the next many years...the Oilers are going to make mince meat out of these over rated clowns....well done Oil!!

This is to good not to share with u all.i was just reading some of comments on FB about the Oilers game tonight .this is one of fans had to say .
"Just remember the more we lose the more likely we are to miss the playoffs and the more likely that chia pet gets fired. Also means a better chance at a lottery pick and would make it a lot easier to dump Lucic with a lottery pick in the mix" wow just wow

I have a reminder set to remind me of Jan 9, 2016 when the Oilers played Tampa.

The reminder is this: "Remember: Only the Oilers can score 5 goals in a game, and still lose that game 3-2."

Left the game with an injury in the 2nd period. That’s why San Jose only scored 7.

Yes, that's right. Not if but "When"

Created by an Oilers fan the day after when the Oilers won 4-0 against the Ducks

Flames Fans, don't equate this thread to "bullying" or "kicking a puppy" because as soon as they start winning, in this case, just one game, they will start spewing this ridiculous crap again

so i wore my Chia•den•freu•de shirt to hockey tonight!

the only downer was that there were only 2 oil fans in the change room.

the one guy actually thought it was pretty funny... but he's also very realistic with his expectations of the oil and is very aware of their no goodness

the other guy... well, he didn't take too kindly to my shirt and was very verbal about it... which was glorious! he was going on and on about how he couldn't wait to watch the oil eliminate the flames from the playoffs
the first thing i asked him was how much orange koolaid he had to drink today - he didn't get the reference and just gave me a blank stare.
i followed that up with asking him "after which oiler rebuild... 6, 7 or 8 is he referring to, becuz the oil won't be getting a sniff of the post season for a while".

that one got lots of laughs in the change room and the saltiness was soooo delicious!
i couldn't help but mention that johnny has a higher points per minutes played average than mccrossover and followed that up with the stat that johnny has more points than rnh in about 150 fewer games... and of course that johnny was chosen 104th, not first overall in the 2011 draft.

again cp... thank you so much for giving me countless amount of ammo when going up against homer oiler fans - it's just so awesome to watch them implode in their no goodness

e=ng!

you should have told the guy that the oil have as good of a chance at eliminating the Flames from the playoffs as the team you play for does.

With the lack of talent what can they trade for help?

Players with value:

McCrossover
Ryan Nothing Happens
Cliffbarnes
IneedaNurse
Drysaddle

They can't trade these guys, they need them. I think the only reasonable way is to try and trade Drysaddle for some help - but at that contract?

RNH is competent enough to run his own line so you trade Drysaddle for what? Defense? Wingers? Second line Centre (lol)?

So many holes.

McFLyFace is young enough to be there at the end of a retool, so I guess you need to start selling. Problem is that the whole organisation is rotten, coaches, trainers, medstaff, scouts etc so you need to clean house.

Its glorious.

their 2019 picks, Bouchard, Benson. Maybe Yamamoto has some value too, but that's about it. I hope they panic and trade their 1st for an average winger, it'd be glorious.

IMO Marks the fact that changes coming in Oilerland, but’s all going to be ok because the press is now been told to be preselling the hope that management is also going to be selling to fans when they fire Chia, and Nicholson announces his retirement effective the end of the year...and Lowe steps in where he left off, including pulling MacTavish’s strings.

That’s when the real fun begins.
Is there any other sports market in North America where the team owns the media like this?

Yamamoto has about as much value as Mangiapane right now.

probably yeah. But who knows, being only 20 and a 1st rounder might also convince a team to take a flyer on him. Maybe Yamamoto + a pick might interest somebody.

Wild on pace to make playoffs with 88 points.
Isles on pace to miss with 100.
