Jagr actually said with an adjustment he believed that McDavid could score 150. I think it is now widely recognized that he was trolling the Oilers, and holy hell, did it ever work!

But this was a talking point on several national radio broadcasts the following day. I don't think there are archived links anymore, but "100 goals!" was seriously discussed on Hockey Central, and it was a feature of the morning show in Vancouver on TSN 1040.

You have to know Maclean goes out of those interviews thinking "boy, did I ever nail him".

Crazy Chaison has a shot % of 31.4. Petterson is up there too with 27.8%. Mc100? 17.1%.

Best thing Jagr ended up doing for us - Hyping up the Oilers, which made them look even sillier in the end.

Yes, but it was an Edmonton Sun media guy that made an article out of it.

I think they're actually now in No Man's Land... or basically wandering in a hot desert next to hell.

They were in Hell for several years until they Lotteried McDavid... now they're not bad enough to truly be in the sucking depths of hell to lottery themselves another answer... all while not being good enough to truly compete.

Most Oiler fans would trade a few years of hell to get out of No Man's Land, but realistically if they did that... they would just end up in No Man's Land again as their Crony Organization would just once again Fuggle up any lottery advantage the league gifted them.

There is a 1-in-585 chance the oilers make the playoffs and the flames do not

The diminished returns of the Jordan Eberle trade is hilarious. From Eberle to Strome to Spooner then not being able to trade Spooner for anything last week according to rumours.

You always hear about the guy who starts with a button and eventually trades for a house, but you never hear about the guy left with the button.

Is the Oilers' top line RW the same Chiasson that was a bottom 6 plug on the Flames a couple of years ago?

Did anyone listen to this yesterday? It was vicious. Ryan Pinder utterly skewered the Oilers for a solid 25 minutes.

I was so eager to find an archived show, but cannot find one anywhere. Didn't SN960 used to do this? Did they stop?

Yup. McDavid is literally banking goals off his shin pads. Like Maroon, Chiasson is going to get a healthy raise next year simply for being a warm body lining up beside McDavid. Makes it real tough for the Oilers to retain even marginal hockey talent when a few months with McDavid make it seem like they are spontaneously breaking out mid-careers.

Not sure where you might be looking, but it's under Podcasts now.

Here is a link to the Pinder & Steinberg show.

Makes Lucic look even worse. Can't even get shin pad goals.
