Ugh...why can't it snow in the middle of the day?
Overnight snowfalls mean idiot drivers for the morning commute.
I love hour long drives to work. Seriously nothing better.

No thanks. If I never see a white Christmas in this city again, I will count myself fortunate.

Its not about heart, its about practicality. Drive the highway between Airdrie and Cochrane in a blizzard, and you will understand. And that is just a 25 minute trip.

Nah, I hear you. But a White Christmas can mean the roads are clear, right?

I wouldn't wish a blizzard upon anyone either...but a couple inches of light snow wouldn't hurt.

Should be a good one...
Warnings
City of Calgary
9:35 PM MST Tuesday 26 December 2006
Snowfall warning for
City of Calgary continued
10 to 20 centimetres of snow expected Wednesday.
An intense low pressure system from the pacific is forecast to track inland along the U.S. border overnight bringing snow to southern Alberta. Snow is expected to start overnight and fall throughout Wednesday bringing 10 to 20 centimetres of snow. A few flurries may linger Thursday as the system moves eastward.
A winter storm watch is an alert of the potential development of severe winter weather. Persons in or near these areas should be prepared for developing adverse weather conditions and should listen for updated watches and possible warnings.

Arrrgh, that blows.
Good thing I love the Flames a little bit more than I hate the snow, 'else I'd be outta here!
Actually I don't hate the snow. But I hate driving in it, which I guess I'll be doing in a few hours.

Good news: I live 2 blocks from work.
Bad news: I have to work tomorrow.
Good news: I think I am going to drive to Tim Hortons, get a breakfast sandwhich and show up 30 minutes late, blaming my tardiness on the weather.

I actually kind of enjoy driving on snowy roads... not sure what the problem is. Just mind your speed and distances and enjoy the ride

At least people out your way actually know what to do when it snows.
We got some a few weeks ago, and the whole city was just messed. My 90-min bus commute from home to school turned into a 2.5 hour adventure, on the days when the university was actually open.
Add power outages and wind to that and i wish i was back in the Kootenays.
Enjoy the snow Calgary, it kicks rain's ass.

The problem is other drivers who don't heed this simple advice.

It's not that much better here, in terms of people knowing how to drive in snow. Earlier in December, my typical 25 minute bus ride took an hour and a half, buses were running at least 15 minutes behind on all routes, my bus was consistently 40-50 minutes late...
We've managed to avoid the power outages, at least.
