Gryba and Reinhart? Bahahaha

What a great "facelift" that was.
Here is an actual visual representation of the "facelift"

From this weeks ESPN Power Rankings (new years resolution):

5. Calgary Flames Resolution: To continue to be the most successful, entertaining and well-managed team in Alberta. Having the better goaltending as well is just spiking the football on the Oilers' heads at this point.

No kidding. Continuing to be better than the Oilers is a bar so low even a Gulutzan coached Flames team could clear it.

Dude... what do you mean? The generational talent in Edmonton is just out of this league. Edmonton is currently on a hot streak don't you know (just ask their captain - as did a reporter last night). One of their players was just named the 3rd star in December in the entire NHL (disregarding our 2nd star finisher of course - as you do in Edmonton). They get another win like that, like they did last last night on Saturday against the 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup champs, and they'll be playing for the cup for sure in April, May and June, they'll be unstoppable. What a great test the Coyotes were last night, but the Kings, that's going to be a BIG league challenge for them and they're favorites to win - they are up for the challenge. Don't you know... they have won 5 cups... and they know how to win, just ask all their management, many of whom played on those very same championship teams. Playing on a winning team and managing one - it's same - same don't you know. Calgary has no idea what a generational talent can do, they've had one before and he's actual part of their management team - so much success all around, he'll manage it all for them (between his sips of wine of course). Edmonton is just so good, the league just gave them FOUR #1 overall picks, with another one promised shortly - the League has never given Calgary even 1 - that should tell you everything you need to know. The League trusts Edmonton with their most skilled up and coming talent - that's just the facts.

Where are the Oiler fan-trolls? Usually there are a couple leftover around new year each season. We are just going to end up restless and start chirping each other.

Saw this today:

How many Oiler fans does it take to change a lightbulb?

None. They sit in the dark and reminisce about how great the old lightbulb was.

The place used to be infested with them. I like it better nowadays.

With the Oilers 13 points back, and battling Vancouver for a sniff of the last playoff spot, it is probably wise they stay away.

Its sad, because I believe that years of bad hockey in Edmonton have warped their perception of reality.

I mean Edmonton fans see their team as

Reality on the other hand is much much crueler.

Yeah...good old preseason and that one in a decade playoff year a few years back. I think hopes and dreams have faded over time...

But at the same time, thats not to say that the scouting department and management shouldn't get credit for making some very solid picks. If the 2007, 2008, 2009 drafts were redone today.. all the Oilers picks (Gagner, Eberle, MPS) would probably go higher than they did. And since 2007, the Oilers have made some very good picks after the first round as well (Omark, Hartikainen, Lander, Pitlick, Marincin, Hamilton, and Martindale).
Dated by an Oilers fan...2010...every singlr player mentioned are no longer Oilers, or never made the NHL past a handful of games...that's no good

But the Nuge is one of the top 2 way forwards in the league, you cant compare them just on points because of his amazing two way game. (Oiler fan response)

I remember looking at that draft on hockeydb at the beginning of the year and he was 30 odd points behind. I thought this would be the year he could catch him, but to do it by the mid point of the season. That is just crazy. What a home run pick that was.
