Not the best effort tonight, but we took advantage of a fragile Wings team. Top line straight up crushed the Wings. Was not too impressed with any other line tonight. Mike Smith actually had a pretty good game. Some scary moments, but I thought he was very much a big reasom for the victory.
Team will need a better effort if they want to beat a very good Boston team. I feel like this team plays down to their competition’s level which scares me a bit. But hopefully this goes away once the regular season winds down.

#Flames LW Johnny Gaudreau on Elias Lindholm: “I said earlier in the season that I feel this is the most chemistry we’ve had with a player since Huds (Jiri Hudler) left. And I think you could even say we have more chemistry with him.

Turned out to be a pretty good tilt all things considered. That was something 1st period me would've been pleasantly surprised (but not too surprised...)
Probably Smith's best game in a while, and more confident then we saw in the most recent good period. More of that please! Good to see that Rittich can take a break, and a piece to build confidence in having a 1A-1B again
Speaking of which... will this be a Gillies start tomorrow? With the time off, Smith could take over if the AHL stats are something to be concerned with... or a boost of confidence that some help for Rittich could be in the system if this Smith loses his way

I'd still like to know how the guy ever had a total of just 17 goals for a career high, and why they ever wanted to trade a player that has been such a fantastic 2-way player for the Flames this year. Why did it not work in Carolina? It's really quite unbelievable that he just always hasn't always been this good, massive numbers from playing on the top line notwithstanding.

Wasn't money a big reason for the canes dealing him? Don't get me wrong, I think the flames hit the jackpot with Lindhokm (Hanifin is no slouch either) but I thought it was a major consideration.
