Worse yet he had to think about it. Wasn't even an immediate call.

That was just ridiculous. Hope the Flames bury 5 in the 3rd.
Worst/most ridiculous penalty shot call I've seen since the mcdavid one in the 2016 opener for getting breathed on after gaudreau got hacked the other way.

Honestly, the issue with Smith isnt necessarily him allowing bad goals tonight but rather not making key saves to win the game for the team.

I personally didnt like the first two goals. However, he needs to stop at least 1 out of the 3 goals. The team just tied it 2-2.. the goalie needs to make a save. Smith has stolen very few games this season.

Wasn't a fan back then. I jumped on in 03/04. I cheered for them in 89. Fleury's knee slide to me as a 10 year old was epic. But I was a Hawks fan.

I am more concerned about future elias Petersen than I am of McDavid. That shot is f'in bananas.

Our elias is best elias though. I also hope our Peterssen is a good one.

It’s more than fair to critique Smith this season. Howard has let in an absolute softy, but Smith has not been strong tonight. I’d like to see him make a big save in a big moment (like his crazy toe save against the Hawks).

Good goalies make saves they shouldn’t make.

Monahan’s shot is better.

So much bleating about Pettersson in the media and nary a mention of Monahan who has more goals and points.

Even flames fans are overlooking his achievement.

That kid is something else. He’s got Johnny moves and a shot that makes Lindholm’s look mid-level.

I hate the Canucks, but I find their success in the draft despite their draft positions to be notable. Horvat, Boeser, Petterson is a nice group to start a rebuild with.

Still love that they took Juolevi.

“So what is the game plan for the third?” boring Monahan: “just sticking with the game plan.” Lol

According to the NHL: Dennis Wideman was employed by the Calgary Flames from 2014-17, therefore it's a penalty shot for Detroit.

They've given an assist to Gaudreau on the third goal. All three Flames goals now have two assists.

Smith has been fine tonight. He’s playing like backup should and I’m good with that. The only goal I fault him for is the penalty shot. That five hole is so big that there is no way to cover it in time.

The D on the other hand has not been good. I blame the first 2 on them.
