If the Oil can't win their game tonight that makes them the most pathetic thing to have ever existed.

Oh Bob. 16 out of 21 teams made the playoffs in 1991.

The best part is that Bob completely ignores that those records aren't even really comparable.
It's more like
1991: 18-18-2
2019: 18-21-0 (plus an extra 3 points, but pretty much everyone gets those)

If you look at Bob's account right now he's in full fledged propaganda mode today.

Typical first working day of January. Motivated to make a dent in the quota early only to fall off the treadmill by the end of the week.

You must admit, he is rather adept at cherry picking stats and manipulating sample sizes to make an asinine point.
"I'm not making up a bunch of BS! The numbers dont lie!"
You almost have to admire that level of accountability.

Worse than that actually.
If you look at regulation records and count any OT win/loss as a tie. Then it's:
1991: 18-15-5
2019: 12-18-9
So yeah...not very comparable. And also shows the Oilers are being propped up by their 9 games that have went to OT, and they've went 6-3 in those games.
By comparsion here is the "regulation record" for the teams currently ahead of the Oilers in the standings in the West:
Flames: 22-12-7
Vegas: 20-15-8
Winnipeg: 19-12-8
Nashville: 20-15-6
San Jose: 18-13-10
Anaheim: 12-15-14 (holy crap are they living on OT/SO)
Colorado: 18-13-9
Dallas: 16-16-8
Vancouver: 14-19-9
Minnesota: 16-17-5
So only teams even close to the Oilers 6 games below .500 in regulation are the Canucks at 5 games below .500.

Their current 18-18-3 record translates to a combined record of 21-12-6 against the Oilers. They have 39 points in 39 games, but they've given up 48.
In 1991, the Oilers were the third seed in the Smythe Division playoffs with 80 points in 80 games. Today, 82 points in 82 games will get you a top-10 draft pick most years.

Interesting, and fun! Not sure this Lucic equals that Lucic though. I'd have called that a "-".

Does anyone recommend any Oilers related parady accounts on Twitter?

What's funny is the Panthers are further out of a playoff spot than the Oilers are right now, but he knows they still have a better chance of making it.
