TV broadcast mentioned him favoring his leg on Monday. Maybe he sits out tonight and gets back into the swing of things tomorrow. I hope.

Yeah, we saw Rittich favouring his leg early in the second. Didn't affect him, but I guess if Smith starts tonight, may as well let him rest entirely.

Pretty sure that Smith will get the start and the Wings are as good a team as any for him to play.

I would like nothing more than for Mike Smith to be good again and there be a goalie controversy. Likely? no.

When they showed Rittich favoring his leg last game my first thought was the Flames would be absolutely screwed if he were to be out for any significant length of time. Really hope this isn't anything serious or lingering

Not surprised, Hudrey commented on this a couple times last game.

This works out ok. Get Smith in and if he stumbles let’s see what Gillies got.

I really hope this isn't one of those "day-to-days" that turns out to be two weeks

This is definitely the window he needs to show up for

Fingers crossed he can hold backup duty against the league fodder if not regain the ability to contribute as a 1B

So many haters here. Every season someone picks the player to be whipping boy and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

Personally i like Smith. I think he is a good goaltender. I think he will get back to form and i understand he is an important part of the dressing room as well.

Spotted him limping after last game during the firework show by the Zamboni area.

This will be the test of the season. If the team can manage to win in spite of Smith's brutal goal tending, we know we have a potential winner on our hands. If this causes a skid we are probably just a pretender.

Most importantly do not rush rittich back under any circumstance. Let him heal completely.

Yikes! Hopefully this turns into an opportunity that Smith grabs with both hands. Also hopefully it’s not long term.
