Another great comeback game from Frolik after a scratch. 3M line looked so natural with Frolik on there in place of Bennett.

Agents crying on twitter or not, if they're producing just keep the 3M line together

Do NOT trade Frolik. We need his versatility and two-way play.

Frolik has been a quiet warrior for his entire time with the Flames and deserves to be respected.

I think they should bench Frolik every 5 games cause he seems to play better after a benching.

It looks like Peter's is 100% right with Frolik...needs a fire lit under his ass from time to time.

He had a good game, that's nice...now do it again

Light a fire and give the guy a couple nights off to recover. Overall a great strategy to have his depth in the playoffs.

I don’t think scratching Frolik is the answer. It’s not like this guy has bouts of poor efforts on a regular basis. Guy works as hard as anyone out there, even in practice and in games. I think it has more to do with chemistry of the 3M line.

Frolik just compliments Backlund and Tkachuk more than anyone else. That’s why they were the team’s best line in all of 16-17. They cycle well down low, gain a lot of offensive zone time and can bury opposition top lines in their own end. If these guys can re-create that magic they had 1.5 seasons ago, then this team has a better chance of going deep into the playoffs.

Summary from Lebrun's latest Athletic notebook:

https://theathletic.com/744155/2019/...k-controversy/

sources confirmed to him that Treliving and Walsh talked a few times over the last few weeks about Frolik's situation before Walsh took to twitter to hammer Peters

source told him that Peters had already decided to put Frolik back into the line up before Walsh tweeted, but doubtful Walsh will believe that

Bennett's agent also shared his disappointment with Treliving about Bennett not playing a big enough role with the team earlier this season. Apparently this disappointment also went back to last season.

Bennett situation seems okay now

LeBrun also guesses that Neal isn't happy with his decision to sign with Calgary to just end up toiling away on the 3rd line.

does note that the team is deeper this year and ice time needs to be earned

guesses Walsh will argue that Frolik never got a fair chance from the get-go when Peters arrived

They need to leave Forlik on the 3M line, not just because he fits well there but because Janko/Bennett seem to have some chemistry with Neal.

We get 3 solid lines out of the deal.

Imagine that, "toiling away" on a great team, making 5.75 mil a year.

Someone grab me a tiny violin.

Neal has hardly looked disappointed this year ; he looks like the biggest kid out of all the players on the bench with the big line goes to work and does amazing things. I think he’s happy right now to be on a deep team that has a great season going towards the half mark, I’m sure he knows his worth will prove itself come the harder part of the schedule and playoff time.

Yeah. Hard to be two faced about your happiness. If you're not happy and you know it your face always shows it. We've not really seen that from Neal with the exception of when he missed on some close calls during his 375735 day long goalless drought.

What do people think of this deal?

Frolik for Eberle?

2 players having down years not fitting in with their new coaches. Eberle could potentially be a nice fit on the 2nd or 3rd line RW and is a pending ufa. Frolik seems like a nice fit with Trotz.

Yeah, Smith looks a lot like what I figured Neal would like on the bench this year. You can't hide massive disappointment. Neal looks like he's having the time of his life out there whenever they show him.

He looks like a guy who's struggling but knows he's getting the chances and is about to go on a playoff run again.

Remember he's had nothing but lengthy playoff runs lately, he'll find his legs second half and the goals will start going in.

Lebrun speculating on Neal is complete rubbish. Pure speculation, and Neal signed here to win a Stanley Cup - and hey, we're the best team in the Pacific Division.

Neal, by all accounts, has been the absolute perfect professional. He's been accountable in the media for his own game all season and just keeps working. I love the Neal signing.

Eberle was a complete no show in the playoffs a few years back. I'd rather have Frolik who can play up and down in the line up and kill penalties.

That's the thing, Michael Frolík received no powerplay or penalty kill minutes at all last night.

Derek Ryan, Garnet Hathaway, and Mark Jankowski, are the three main penalty killing forwards now.
