This tweet along with this thread title...

It just all works so perfectly. The entire league is laughing at the Oilers and it was just a couple months ago when they'd won 3 games in a row claiming "this is the year" and "see, everyone makes of the Oilers but now we're a good team!".

It's just so great.

He is still employed because he's Lowe's puppet

Chiarelli’s answers were as if he just responded to our e=ng thread!

Bonus points for the desperate look in his eyes, and the sheer frustration of building such a collection of 7 giordanos and Hitchcock not delivering. That’s right, this is Hitchcock’s fault.

Dude cannot even go out in public without be ridiculed and yelled at. Its gonna be a sad sad day in the hockey world when he gets canned.

Petrovic on the top pair and Lucic on the top line.

It's so stupid, it will probably work. Lucic scores the GWG on a Petrovic shot that bounces off his ass. Oiler fans praise Chiarelli's brilliance again, and the Stanley Cup parade is back on.

Then they go and lose five of their next six.

I can’t believe I thought they might turn that mess around when they hired Chia and Mclellan. Respectable hockey people who had won before.

But here they are, their reputations in tatters after a few years in Edmonton. And the team as bad as ever.

Chia's reputation wasn't exactly stellar when he left Boston.

Yup, Lowe is throwing Chia out there to be the face of another mess Lowe himself has his hands all over. Very good odds the moves yesterday are Lowe fully back in charger.

All of his answers are “We thought the player...” which is code for “I have no authority”.

This trade is getting tons of notoriety as it should, but’s making me sad that the Reinhart trade is fading in people’s memories.

Never forget Reinhart.

This is Milbury levels of GMing. It’s generational.

The place is a hockey garborator. Anything that goes in comes out mangled and only very few are salvageable

Wow Chia looks like a defeated man. Stumbling over words looking visibly frustrated. Very dumb decision to have a press conference. But I guess dumb teams do dumb things.

Lol dont kid yourself, they would have found a way to ruin barzal even if they were smart enough to draft him instead of make that good awful trade

I still don't see the need for a presser for nothing trades, they could have saved themselves some embarrassment but I guess its the grease so maybe a banner going up soon.

They must have the “Most Pressers In a Single Season” banner raised already so I don’t see the need either.

At least it wasn't one their famous pre-game celebrations where they make the opposition team stand there boiling in their uniforms while the Oilers self-fellate themselves.
