I don't know man, that 3rd period was a saw-off. Both teams tightened up defensively and played conservatively.

Two. The Canucks have two “legit” top line players.

I had that feeling and they won so I guess it was a good feeling. I thought the Flames were hanging on for the last 5 minutes of the 3rd period. Markstrom was really good and as said most of the Flames top forwards were not. They have to get going as the Sharks and Knights are with two points and another week like the last two and the Flames could easily find themselves in 3rd place in the Pacific.

I wish someone other than Scott Oake did those After Hours interviews.

Why? I quite like him, he's got a good dry personality and seems to connect well with his guests.

I mean it’s not like PP1 couldn’t even enter the zone, rather they tried to force passes across royal road and VAN deflected the pass on a few occasions. They need to open up that pass to Monahan in the slot. Get the puck behind net and then out for bang-bang shot.
PP2 had a goal taken away (rebound) but they aren’t getting enough of those chances to cash a rebound. There’s nothing at the net.
If a goalie is playing well and the opponent is playing tight (no east west) put it in the crease and bang it home. Get Janko out there with his reach to find some pucks.
Bah! Frustrating game as they did have long stretches where they dominated.

Eh, they have three. Pettersson, Horvat, Boeser.

Neal is snake bit. He should have had a goal or two. I don't like to see him on the top two lines.
I think this is one game we should have won. A lot of credit should go to their goalie. With his size he sure seems to cover a lot of the net
That Petterson goal was a beauty...just below the crossbar. Rittich had no chance.
That overtime was one of the most exciting ones I've seen. I think we had a couple of two on ones (or nones), and still didn't manage to score.

Could go on but that one is on Peters. I have no idea why you’d put Bennett on over a guy like, say, Tkachuk.
|
I questioned the combination of Hanifin, Backlund and Bennett on the ice together. Seemed like trouble right off the go.

sorry I am sour...Flames got robbed of a goal
Canucks suck, I'm not giving them credit...they just trapped and sat back all game. They should have/would have lost if the ref was competent and didn't blow the whistle for no reason.

Without looking it up, Guess who is next, and how many goals they have?

Look at the other top teams in our conference, Winnipeg, San Jose, Nashville, Colorado.
Our secondary scoring is quite comparable. I think you just have unreasonable expectations of what secondary scoring is from guys who play fewer minutes and way less PP time.

I get like the Flames outplayed them for most of the night outside of a couple of stretches. Way more scoring chances and should have won the game in regulation. Cancuks played alright but did not outwork the flames all night in my opinion.

Backlund hasn’t been very good since he came back from injury, and Tkachuk is struggling. Bennett might be killing their offense, but the team needs those two to do the heavy lifting at even strength against tough competition. Not happening right now.
I’d throw Frolik back on the line for a couple games and see if they can get their groove back.

I don’t think Horvat is a top line player. Not really.
