The sadness is that I was relaxing while watching the game and fell into a deep slumber when it was 4-1. I woke up with the score 7-4 and waited to hear the cascade of boo's as the Oilyaz left the ice. Instead I was greeted with the sound of apathy, no boo's my friend, instead the sound of sad and lost souls raising their butts from their seats and sadly heading to the exits and their lives which they were desperate to escaped from.

The Oilers are not only no good, they're soul killers.

EDMONTON IS NO GOOD!!!
I’m very sorry to hear this. My daughter had some loser take her jacket from her chair at Rogers during a concert in Greaserville. All I could tell her was that her nice jacket would be no use for the mouth breather that took it because it would be too narrow a cut.

I’m assuming that your fave shirt was worn plenty of times and therefore would be infinitely nicer than the shirt that the sweat pants and good shoes wearer already had.

I really hope Todd McLellan decides to write a tell-all book someday about his 3+ years coaching the tire fire in Edmonton. Hitch can write the forward after he extricates himself from the mess at the end of the season.

Never a bad time to revisit the "Bobby Nick's Burger."

Spoiler!
Quoting for additional exposure. It may have been picked up on when the article was first published but the text in this link is excruciatingly no good.

One of my faves is "Nicholson smiled, turning to high-five Chef Blackerby.". Gross.

It’s actually better for the oilers to play .500 hockey for the rest of the year and hopefully save Chia his job for one more season.

That way they not only avoid winning the lottery (probably) but then Chia re-signs Koskinen to a huge deal and hopefully overpays Chiasson as well. Maybe even another terrible 1 for 1 trade before he inevitably gets replaced by McTavish.

I don't know. Talk on the radio right now is that Keith Gretzky would likely be considered to become the Oilers next General Manager.

I don't expect that would go well at all.

Draisaitl and McConnor getting the pavel bure goals at 16:53 and 19:54 respectively. I’m impressed at how much more respectable doubling the goal totals in the last 3:07 looks.

I'm not sure who the play by play guy is on 630 CHED, but
when they were down 3-1 he actually said " If the Oilers don't start to push back now, they are going to have a hard time challenging for the Pacific division title" ???wtf. Delusional.

The bottom line is that the Oilers and Hitch can blame injuries to their blueline all they want. But the fact is that out of the injured defensemen, really only Klefbom is an impact loss but frankly he's a poor mans first pairing blueliner. Russell is awful and a bottom pairing guy, Sekera hasn't been around for a couple of years so he's no real loss.

Frankly that's a team that's already quit on another coach. What do they expect when they as a group allow 40 shots and a lot of them high quality shots.

Their goaltenders are wearing out.

I loved the don't touch me look by McDavid when he scored the meaningless goal. It was almost like he was screaming "I don't want your loser cooties"

To me they're now playing worse then they did under T-Mac. He's sitting at home on the couch with a bottle of expensive scotch and a pile of paychecks and saying "Not so easy is it Hitch?"

I can hardly wait for the off season when Mark Messier the new GM and Craig Mac-T the new coach signed by the return of President Kevin Lowe sent out a letter to the fans saying

Ahem

Dear Oiler fans;

We've made major changes in this off season, we've fired the non oiler members of the management team. Chia and Bobby N have been shown the door, and your saviors Kevin "I know winning" Lowe, Craig "The winning coach" Mac-T and me Mark "Chip" Messier. Are here to return this team to its former 80's glory. Its been a long and difficult journey to this decision but now we know that non Oilers are not worthy of being in this organization. In fact I was talking to our director of professional scouting, you know him you love him Wayne Gretzky and he asked me if he could expense the mini-bar tab during his scouting trips away from his wife Janet.

Anyways, we have a long road ahead, but we have a lot of exciting young players here to tide you over through our journey back to what we know best. Lottery Picks. Lots of Lottery picks.

So strap in, strap on and prepared to be blown away

Sincerely

Chip Messier

GM
