I think I would qualify this as a "must-win" for the Sabres today. They've struggled a bit since that 10 game winning streak, a loss at home today to a divisional rival that could drop them in to the wild card spots would be tough.

Hoping to see Brossoit tonight. Connor needs competition to light a fire under him and get him going.

'Hawks return to Denver for the 2nd time in 10 days...Chicago sources point out that the 'Hawks are only 7 points out of the 2nd WC spot in the west. But, a. there are SIX teams between them and the WC, b. the 'Hawks have played the most games in the NHL, and are giving up 3 to 4 games in hand to those 6 teams, and c. are only at 2.3% chance to make it to the playoffs.
My guys HAVE been playing better lately, without having seen a "new coach bump", and the PP has scored in 4 in a row, which is a major surprise for them.

As long one of the Sharks/Oilers loses (no OT), it's a good result.

True, but Edmonton is really no threat to catch us and I’d prefer to see San Jose lose and for us to get some breathing room.

Well sure, but that's not the point of the win-win here. An Oiler loss is always a good thing, regardless of standings. A Shark loss is good *because* of the standings.

Well I don’t want the oilers to lose too much. Otherwise they might fire Chiarelli.

Yeah.. this is an anomaly, but the end justifies the means. It is in our best interest to hope for the No Goods to win tonight.

Really don’t want 3 points handed out in the Sharks game. My main preference is for the Oilers to lose but at least if they win it keeps some distance between us and the Sharks.

Seconded... Burn oilers burn. If this losing streak spirals further and they fall even more out of it will be a stake through their heart.. leaves just 4 teams battling for those 3 divisional spots and the wildcards... Sharks are in it till the end either way.

Carolina is going to need Fox to emerge as a damn good player to save their summer trade with the Flames. 0 goals late PP and the Unicorn who was one of the top 10 trade assets in the league on the bench.

Wow, I can't believe they waved that off - if that is goalie interference, then any contact whatsoever is interference.

Yeah, I thought that was a goal. Very little contact at all.

I think this anthem singer in Edmonton is new this year. Is that right?

To me, there was ample time after the contact where he was set, and it didn’t affect his ability to move at the time the shot was taken.
Brutal call. Kid gets his first shutout but didn’t deserve it.
