It's like the Chiefs are missing a top corner...like say a Marcus Peters. Brutally embarassing defence

Pats could still earn #1 seed, but there is an argument that #2 is actually better for them.

Wilson has just destroyed these CFL calibre CB''s of the Chiefs. Bob Sutton will definitely be fired in the offseason and the Chiefs better have new MLB's CB's and safety's.

Might as well kick right now, save the time.

Why did Seattle go back to Jankowski? The drop kick was working.

This defense will cost the Chiefs a championship shot. The secondary of the Chiefs is absolutely horrible

To be fair you could have prime Revis in that situation and those passes are still getting complete. The coverage was good on both those throws (minus the penalty on the second one), the throws were just better.

Onside kicks are impossible now without a running start.

It will cost them a trip to the AFC Championship this year. But they still have Mahomes on a rookie deal for 3 more years. They can fix this defence in a couple drafts.

Well I have to give Seattle credit. They changed over a lot of that roster and got back to the playoffs without a rebuild. Gives me hope as the Chiefs have a Wilson like QB now.

Well the Chiefs should at least consider being more aggressive in the playoffs on offense, plan to go for it more often. Even with their horrible defense they've only lost to playoff teams this year, and all by one score or less. Trusting Mahomes to make a few more plays rather than punting is probably their best shot this year, and besides the length of field the opposing offense gets doesn't matter for the Chiefs defense.

Did anyone actually ever get hurt of the old ones ?
There needs to be a better solution

I've heard instead of onside kick go 4th and 15 from the 35.

Id like to see Seattles Dickson try an onside drop kick.
Problem is they are still kicking it like they used to when the kicking team got a running start. Change up how you kick it.

I think you could eliminate fair catches on kickoffs, that way you can try and sky it up and make it basically a jump ball. But yeah the new rules really do make something that was already hard truly impossible.

Interesting article about the struggles and decline of MNF.

Quote:
Remember how the classic "Monday Night Football" always seemed to get the best game matchups? Who can forget Mike Ditka's undefeated Bears taking on Don Shula's Dolphins on Dec. 2, 1985? That classic game at the Orange Bowl (called by Gifford, Joe Namath and none other than O.J. Simpson) is still the highest-rated in Monday night game history, with a 29.6 rating.
Or Phil Simms' Giants taking on Joe Montana's 49ers on Dec. 3, 1990? That clash of two 10-1 teams featured future Hall of Famers on and off the field, including LT, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick. It's the second highest-rated Monday night game ever, with a 26.9 rating.
Fast-forward nearly 30 years, and it's NBC's "Sunday Night Football" and Fox's and CBS' Sunday afternoon packages that land the best games. That's why "Sunday Night Football" has reigned as the No. 1 prime-time show a record seven straight years.
|
Quote:
To add insult to injury, ESPN pays nearly twice as much as other NFL TV partners for the rights to Monday night: $1.9 billion a year. For that, it gets one wild-card playoff telecast and the Pro Bowl. But zero Super Bowls.
|
Quote:
There have been whispers for years that the NFL stiff-armed ESPN as pay-back for the network's ferocious reporting on criminal players, concussions and CTE. Maybe. Maybe not. But there's little doubt that years of weak games have taken their toll on the "Monday Night Football" brand.
