Great but the follow up shot that lead to the goal was weak. Really weak.

I'm surprised Paryko didn't score on that shot from his own blue line. It was a hard shot, and Smith only saw it coming for 140 feet or so...

Thought Ryan made some nice plays on that PP, set up Neal twice in the slot, but that is pretty much the same as giving to puck away..

What is the point of even having a goalie then? It wasn't like it was a high danger chance. Guy just needed to get in front of it. Man, I am so pissed off. Smith just ruining the team with his untimely bad goals. I had a good feeling of the comeback until that last crap goal.

I saw better goaltending by Slovakia’s U20 goalie last night. Not even joking and they lost 6-1

Can't take the Flames seriously if they keep playing Smith

I honestly don't understand the coach's choice with Smith again and again.
I also don't understand the decision-making with Neal broadly speaking but more specifically last game putting him in the shootout as the 3rd shooter no less.
As reactionary as it may sound I've really questioned Peter's decision making on these two things and it honestly makes me wonder if we're playing well because of him or despite him.
Just have no real answer for this it's just sad seeing us waste away points like this.

Starting Smith was stupid. From what I heard he had next to no practice time up until Thursday. Why stick him in cold and trip us up into the break?
I would not have started him until he looked good in practice and had a lot of it.

No.
Not even Textcritic can defend Mike Smith at this point.

Same veteran respect non-sense. Chad Johnson would be a much better alternative at this point

Nothing like heading into the break losing 3 in row, dropping points against a bottom 5 team

He's simply trying to spark something in Smith, and the only way to do it is to have him win a game. Given that, who else are you going to play him against?
As it stands we're one Rittich injury away from a very big problem, so he's doing what he can to prepare / mitigate such a situation.

And being top of the division. If they lose. Yup, nothing like it.

at least we can stop hearing about Smith and his six game winning streak...especially when he was well on his way to blowing his last start until he left
