I've quite liked this start to the period. The middle-six and Gaudreau in particular look good.

I love paying for Sportsnet now so that I can watch 5 minutes then have it stop playing and tell me it’s unavailable in my region. Have to restart the app and miss a minute or two of play. It’s a fantastic system they have.

NHL officiating is just awful all around. How is the cross check on Backlund not called?

Just didn't call it. Yelled about it afterwards but didn't call it. I get letting things go but a cross check right to the ribs after the whistle? Come on ref.

And that people is exactly why fighting can never be taken out of the game. Freaking zebra standing right there watching Backs take a crosscheck to a vulnerable place and no call. Feed bert his chicklets!

Game management. Par for the course with NHL officiating.

I wish I could hold out hope that this will be addressed, but the zebras are clearly above accountability at this point.
