NM, already being discussed enough and no reason to "pile on".

I missed basically the whole game except OT and the shootout. Great OT with great chances but I thought it was impressive how we got so many chances against them. Damingue (sp) in God Mode to get to the shootoit.

I’ll never be mad about a shootout loss, Johnny and Janko got robbed on their moves and Hanifin hit the post. Flames play Tampa well as seen over the last few years. A playoff series would be more than fun with them...

I think Bennett needs to be spend some time stapled to Backlund and Tkachuk, both are fantastic at getting the best out of their line mates. Bennett has spent quite a bit of time slugging it out on the bottom 6 and is finally getting strong enough to start playing his game at the NHL level, it's a great chance for him to step up by playing with some time talent and getting some "top 6" momentum.

Actually you'd be surprised: https://www.tsn.ca/power-rankings/vi...t-week~1567105

Calgary up one spot to #2, and Toronto fell 4 spots to #6.

But yeah, I never to go TSN for hockey coverage any more. I don't care about what Matthews eats for breakfast.

Sam Bennett was awesome. If he can find that gear consistently he can be a great second line player

That was easily the best game of hockey I have seen in probably years

Not even mad(other than the fact that we still have shootouts in the nhl)

Great game to watch, wished OT was longer. In real time the 5 min ot was 8 mins, 7 round shootout was 9 minutes. 10 minutes ot would be ideal, but I'd settle for 7 minutes.

By the end of the year AC might have enough material for a video that is just Bennett flying in from off screen to crush someone.

Overtime is so much about control now, being 3 on 3, I think Rittich should have come out to negate the icing in O.T., to keep control. With the faceoff after the icing, they gave up the puck and led to a scoring chance for TB.

Just an adjustment I would probably make in Overtime to maintain control of the puck.
Interesting -- I didn't really think about it at the time. I can see wanting the icing if the other team is visibly tired, but that's a hard call to make in the moment. Probably better to negate the icing more often than not in order to ensure possession.

I'm in the minority but I think overtime is fine the way it is. The 5 min 3 on 3 has a sense of urgency to it. I think if you extend you'll see lots of resets and reloading by the puck controlling team while the defenders sit back. You see lots of it now but there's more pressure to move the puck.

As for the shootout. I was anxious in good and bad ways, frustrated, and disappointed. I think those are good emotions you want from your audience if you are running the nhl.

Some of us are perfectly happy not thinking about baseball and basketball. I prefer to keep it that way.

Someone needs to tell him November is over, that thing is awful.

Love his game though.

I do agree with this, as 3 on 3 is almost a game of keep away. But we have to keep in mind how exhausting it is too. There are moments when the action is back and forth and the players are essentially bag skating up and down the ice. There’s times where you can visibly see players gasping for air and looking down in disbelief as they prepare to rush down the ice for a back check. Perhaps in that case, they were hoping to catch the Lightning exhausted and unable to make a change

That was a fun game to watch.

Why did Brodie pass the puck to Johnny with Domingue out of position and staring at an open net!!! That was ridiculous.

Johnny Gaudreau was incredible, as was Domingue in the OT.

Shoot outs are still kinda stupid and left me with an empty feeling.

James Neal's confidence is at an absolute bottom right now. Good on Peters for giving him a chance to maybe get some back in the SO.

Bennett's hit on Miller was awesome.
