OT should be 20 minutes

Those two saves by TBS goalie against Mono was incredible. Went top blocker first shot and then when the rebound came right back to him, he went the exact opposite low glove and he made both saves.

Calgary is terrible in the shootout. Look like atom players trying to shoot.

I was hoping for an old Phaneuf slapshot.

I was surprised Monahan was only 13/34 or whatever in the shootout. It feels like he scores every time.
Shootouts are still stupid.

The shootout sucks, but not quite as badly as Neal sucked tonight.
Someone needs to round up a batch of his old sticks or something.
Hopefully the Flames can get up against the Blues and drop a bunch of goals on them.

I'd like to think that if the Flames had that level of goaltending this year we'd be the top team in the league too.
Flames deserved a better fate in this one. Every goal for the Lightning was a lucky bounce, a deflection, or a garbage goal in tight. Domingue won this one for the Lightning.
|
We do have that level of goaltending
19 16 11 4 0 1 483 36 2.20 .925 1 98
18 18 14 4 0 0 559 53 2.95 .905 0 1,079
16 16 11 3 0 2 541 38 2.35 .930 1 96
Rittich has the best GAA of the 3, better save percentate than Domingue, and has played more then either
It's safe to say that the Flames have a goalie. Smith as a backup may be ok to deal with.

Backlund and Bennett played really good games. Hathaway is ultra solid on the PK also.
Just saw Bennetts statline: 3 shots 7 hits and 1 block with two points to boot. Backs with 5 shots 3 hits.. Solid game for that 2nd line(until the blender).

There is ZERO chance there would be no goals in 20 minutes 3 on 3.

Man, this year has been fantastic, exciting hockey. I feel bad for all who gave up their tickets out of malice this season.

EXACTLY! Now he is actively costing us points and games. Watch from 30 seconds back on every scored against us tonight. If you defend Neal, then you officially have Neal derangement syndrome. This guy has been hot garbage all year. The rest of the team made great plays and had a great effort out there tonight. Lazy, no confident plays will affect such a close match up. A 5.7 million dollar signing basically cost us a point and win. Look at the replays and tell me I'm wrong.

I have never seen an OT period like that. End to end rushes with huge saves on both ends. Flames proved they can play with best in the league and did not look out of place.
Gotta love the confidence this team shows when down a goal late in the game. Something we haven't seen from any Flames team in years.
Rittich is so calm and cool in the net. You gotta love his swagger and confidence level. I think we may have stumbled upon our future #1 tender.
