I don't even remember how he got hurt. What happened?

I thought it was a blocked shot and a broken foot. Wasn't anything super obvious

Forward lines from #Bolts morning skate:
Miller-Stamkos-Johnson
Palat-Point-Kucherov

Erne-Paquette-Martel

D pairings from #Bolts morning skate
Hedman-Stralman
McDonagh-Cernak
Coburn-Girardi

Domingue in the starter’s net, he’ll likely get his first game on the trip vs Flames tonight.
Not to underestimate Domingue, but I like our chances better with him in net as opposed to Vasilevskiy. Let's hope we can pull off a win tonight against the best in the league.

Not surprised to see czarnik sit, he's been extremely useful, especially last game despite being gifted 2nd line time. Disappointing, was hoping he'd be a real diamond in the rough finding this offseason, yet I'd be just fine seeing him moved by the deadline.

Anyways, go flames. Big test, am really hoping Bennett/neal are back.

Cue the ATL report and Oilers crying that teams play their backup against the Flames and put their starters in against them.

Hasn't Domingue played really well here in the past though?

(still better than Vasilevsky)

I think Austin Czarnik turns into Paul Byron. We will move him and he will realize his potential.

The Flames are coming off a double rarity this season: A loss that was a shutout. In the final tilt of their recent three-game road swing in which they finished 2-1, they fell 2-0 to the Dallas Stars Tuesday night. Travis Hamonic led the Flames with four shots in the loss, while Johnny Gaudreau , Mark Giordano and Noah Hanifin had three. David Rittich stopped 26 shots in his third straight start. "We weren't sharp and it showed right from the start," said Giordano. "I think they looked like the faster team but only because they were committed to putting pucks in and forechecking. For whatever reason, we were fighting it all night and we weren't making clean plays. Not to take anything away from them, they played a hard fought game but I don't think we were sharp enough, for sure." … The Flames had outscored the opposition 15-8 in their previous three games, including a 7-2 pasting of the Blues Sunday in St. Louis.
Interesting comment, considering that their last 3 regulation losses have all been shutouts.

domingue has better career stats against the flames than vasilevskiy, not exactly stellar, but better. hoping the red line shines plenty behind domingue tonight

domingue: 3-2-0 .910 sv% 2.22 gaa

vasilevskiy: 1-2-0 .874 sv% 4.04

Sure, maybe. Probably some Boston fans who thought the same thing.

Sure looks like the flames have finally made their move toward a new starter. It may be that Smith is still hurt however

Ah yes, on Saturday. The "Beast in the East" versus the "Jest in the West"

I figure we will see the Flames "A" game tonight. Facing the best teams seems to bring out the best in this club, and now they are considered one of the elite teams themselves, I can see a very high scoring and entertaining game. Go Flames Go!!

I think the Flames were looking past Dallas towards this game, expecting a barn burner tonight!

It could be, but I think the coaches put a lot of weight into how the goalies look in practice. Peters has said a couple times now that practices have played in important role in the decision, and made a point of talking about how much Smith improved in practice before winning games at the end of November. I won't be the least bit surprised to see Smith get another string of games, and if he is coming off an injury it's possible that he is still rediscovering his game-form.

Lets Go Big Save Dave!

This is going to be a good one, the Lightning are rolling but the Flames are in such good form that they should fear no one.

If theres one immutable constant in the Universe its that the idiot Oilers and their even dumber fans will complain about anything and everything.

Christ himself could show up and turn the North Saskatchewan River into Wine and they'd complain that its not enough.

Lou did a nice hype job for this game tonight on the FAN. He mentioned this is one of the most crisp, confident, prepared morning skates he has seen from the Flames all year. This one is huge. SCF preview tonight

Rittich starting in this game tells me that the organization has handed him the #1G torch.

If we're going to the promised land this season, he's going to be the one in goal.

I am a anglo-quebecer who speaks just as much french as english and this is the first time i hear that term. Put as such it means nothing to be honest. Assez incompetent would be better used for Czarnik. Guy gets knocked off the puck more than eatbread.
