Headline is about Calgary and then they talk about the Flames for literally 1:30 out of a 15:00 video. What a joke Sportnet is. I wish TSN was the broadcaster for the Flames.

I am waiting for some articles to come out about this trade talking about how Treliving absolutely fleeced Waddell on this deal. Those will make for fun satisfying reads.

Not necessarily a good thing. I really wish Hamilton worked out for the Canes. GM's might be wary of dealing with Tre now in trades.

Meh nothing to worry about. Treliving fleeced Sweeney when he got Hamilton and that didn’t change anything. I am sure Hamilton will pour in a bunch of points before in the second half of the season like he always did here. Waddell got fleeced on Skinner as well so he looks bad.

I don't think that really makes sense. At the time of the deal the trade looked even. for the first 1/4 of the season it was debatable because Ferland was playing so well before his concussion issues. In any case, there are plenty of good GMs out there who have made one sided trades, no one is going to blacklist them. It's not like Tre cheated to get Lindholm and Hanifin, it just worked out really well... so far. Who knows, Fox could wind up being the best Dman to ever play the game, and then we'd look like idiots... but then everyone would start trading with Tre again because he got fleeced in the end! /sarcasm.

Doesn't work that way. These are people that are being traded, and people change - there are no guarantees. Every GM will acquire players that turn out better than they expected, and players that will turn out worse (more often). It is the nature of the business, and winning a trade doesn't make him a wizard that other GMs will suddenly fear.
Thanks that was pretty interesting. Good to see the Flames have finally forces the media to really take notice!
Flames are a top team and while the trade comment was rather delicious, they can only muster a minute of talk around them?
Flames are arguably the most entertaining Canadian team to watch right now. The 4 and 5 goal periods, dramatic come from behind wins. The Tkachuk antics getting the oilers all up in arms. Captain having a Norris season. BSD cellies.
But still blah blah blah jets. Blah blah blah leafs.
Thats how she goes up here.

No GM is making a bad trade on purpose. If a GM has any confidence in his abilities he'd trade with any other GM, as long as the deal makes sense to them. They may pay closer attention if they know they are dealing with a shrewd GM, but it's not like they'd avoid making a trade because the GM they are dealing with has a reputation.
A couple days ago on hockey central they were talking about the Flames and one of the comments that came out is that at the time of the trade it was described as the Hamilton trade. Now people are calling it the Lindholm trade. I think that shows were the meter is currently pointed.
