Also the Oilers are trailing the Blues 2-1 halfway through the 3rd. The damage done by this loss tonight might be minimal (let's hope!)

He's so good.
He's talent wasted on colour.. Wish he got to call some goals tonight.

I only listened to a few minutes but Loubo was pretty darn good on 960.
The Flames -- not so much. On to the next...

we'll see how they respond next game. all the injuries seem to be catching up to them. the nhl tweener level players didn't do much with the extra ice time. frolik can't back soon enough. still, the flames were unlucky not to at least score a goal. disappointing they didn't grease out at least an undeserved point like the ducks always seem to do.
just once, i wish the combination of terrible, out of sync flames efforts and bad lucks happens randomly, if they must happen, against teams like florida and the islanders instead of every time against these mediocre stars who didn't even have their best defensemen or the ducks for the 1000th time. ugh

Again, you could definitely tell it was the third game in four nights. They looked flat and had nothing left in the tank. The next time we have three games in four nights the third game is against the grease again. I'd be curious to know how the number of times we have three games in four nights stacks up to the rest of the league. Very unimpressed with the schedulers. You have two afternoon games back to back, and then got a flying to Dallas and play them and in an evening game. And again, the officiating was absolutely horrendous. If I did my job the way the NHL referees seem to do there's, people would die.

So is that 3 of rittich losses so far this year that the Flames haven't scored a single goal? Whole team owes him an apology after that crap effort.

3rd game in 4 nights... oh well. Hopefully come back with some fire vs Tampa. Flames just suck vs Dallas

You can kind of sense when this team isn't going to score. I think it's because our team isn't really able to use the circles to score goals. Our offense is very slot and netfront dependant, and if a team (Vegas, Edmonton, Dallas) takes those away (easier said than done, but doable) we don't have much of a plan B. Could really use a Laine/Ovechkin/Malkin type goal scorer who can do it through brute force. Neal was supposed to be that guy but we never tried to use him in such a role and now his confidence is shot.
Not gonna read too much into that loss though. On paper we were missing an entire 3rd line (Frolik-Bennett-Neal)

Better 3rd but really ugly first 2 periods. Looked like a very slow, tired team.
And is that the worst ice in the NHL? Can't remember seeing pucks bounce everywhere like they were tonight, pretty brutal.

Tough game tonight. Another one of those 3 games in 4 nights. Team didn’t have their legs, couldn’t make passes, couldn’t take passes. Just a collectively bad game by everybody. Time to get home, rest up and get back at it Thursday.

In their last 3 games they've beaten the incredibly mediocre Flyers, Wild, and Blues. Games like tonight happen to good teams once in a while. Flames will be fine.
