Agreed about the relatively weak music selection this year. But there were some really good things put out.
I never understand how people can say a given year in music is "weak". There are literally hundreds of CDs released every month. It just takes some work to find the quality, and that's why I enjoy threads like this to see what I have missed out on.

Yah, Sparklehorse seemed to dissappear literally there for a while...with no trace, at all. Checking out the website (http://www.sparklehorse.com/) it looks like it has been 5 years since anything was last put out....

Anyways, thanks for the heads up. I will see if I can find it here (down east), which I may not be able to but worth a try. Glad to hear that you really like the 2 albums that I did...I LOVED Good Morning Spider (1st album I got of theirs). Its a Wonderful Life was alright, but not nearly as good as those first two I think.

That's true, but in terms of the number of really good releases, this year seems to be lacking what last year had.

Single of the year. How the kids (on this side of the pond anyways) aren't eating this song up is beyond me. They prefer horse manure like My Chemical Romance I guess.

I could've sworn that the kids were eating this song/album up. Everyone seems to know about the Arctic Monkeys now. Although I don't know if they get any play on things like Muchmusic or MTV.
