We can be critical and rational at the same time.

Why does he need his nuts sucked every time he does his job? He's (currently) the #1 goalie for one of the best teams in the NHL. Everybody on this team should be held to a high standard, and when you have an aging, goofy, floppy goalie that has been consistently letting in comical, soft, back-breaking goals all season long you need to start calling a spade a spade. It's not like anyone has some weird hate-boner for Smith. Everyone's happy when he plays well. The issue is consistency. At this point nobody should be surprised when shots like the 4th goal tonight go in. And for a team like the Flames, that's not remotely acceptable.

I liked Burke much better when he didn't wear a tie and didn't talk.

It's Ryan. Smith at least has been producing results with a 6-0 run and a .934 in that span.
Ryan on the other hand, over matched on most of his assigments, plays die on his stick. poor vision.
Honestly, Quine should have taken Ryans spot on the Chucky line after the shift and Bennys goal.

This team should not be spending any assets on any other position before they acquire a real goalie.

Yeah that 4th goal was one that simply cant happen considering what had happened the previous couple minutes.
That is on Smith.
The other ones are all on the other guys on the ice though.
Smiths confidence is rattled far to easy which is just odd to me, but it is what it is and the Flames cannot afford it much longer.

Works for me. However, the game against the BJs wasn't ideal.

Quine is proving once again, you don't sign replaceable bottom 6 forwards on July 1. You don't pay Derek Ryan for his career year. You sign guys like Quine and look for them to become the next Derek Ryan. The on ice difference between Quine and Ryan is not $2M.

Not possible when he’s demoted after a slightly below average performance. This team for some odd reason has no confidence in him.

What are the realistic goalie options out there?
I think sureLoss posted recently that DET wants a 1st for Howard. That's not appetizing.

BJ game was pretty much an anomaly on all fronts, across both teams.
Was solid in edmonton.

no? TBH, We ride or die with Smith until Rittich flat out steals it from him. Ritter was better the fist part, ran with it, then he started to suck, then Smith got good and Ritter has been meh. Hanging Smith on tonights game is extremely disingenuous as his team hung him out for 3 goals against and he let in one stinker. See how they do in the 3rd.
