Default Looking for LCD TV repair guy

Can anyone recommend where I can bring my Samsung LCD to get fixed? The HDMI input on the back of the TV somehow came loose, and I'm not very comfortable opening the unit on my own.

Thanks.

You will, in all liklihood, need to replace the tuner board entirely, that the input is on.

Monster makes a cloth/spray. Should be available at Future Shop or Best Buy.

Since this discussion is about LCD tvs, I've got another question.

I bought an Olevia 527v LCD television on the internet and I received it the other day. I hook it up to my just regular cable from Shaw and low and behold all I get is a black screen. I get the power light to come on , but I get no setup menu or anything. Do I have to have an HD tuner? Do LCD tvs need an HD tuner, or should regular cable be alright - if HD isn't a big deal to me? Is the tv just broken (need to replace the LCD panel)? I'm pretty dumb when it comes to new tech stuff, so CP's input would be great! Thanks.

Try using your remote to change the input.

There are no repair guys these days because manufactuers are reluctant to send mom & pop repair guys replacement parts and usually the cost of the parts and repair outweight the cost of an actual new TV. That's the reality with modern electronics. Most are simply not servicable.

You'll have to rely on warranty or factory return. Or if you're daring and your warranty is expired, open her up yourself and see what the problem is.

There was this story on CFCN or Global awhile back about some poor television repairman who basically couldn't do his job anymore and ended up having to start some business selling jams from home.

That's the thing. I looked at the back and there's 6 or 8 screws that hold the back panel together. I just don't want to try to open it and then everything inside just fall out on me.
