At the end of the night, the Flames are still first in the conference and the grease are still no good

Only problem is once Colorado takes out the trash on Tuesday, the Flames will be 2nd.

That’s what they were saying in regards to the Hyman hit on McAvoy last night.

Worth it to knock them down a peg. We can retake 1st on our own, we don’t need anyone’s help.

Generally accepted. Burke talked about it last night during his intermission segment.

Ok didn’t know, it used to be last player to touch the puck was still considered in possession. Since he tossed the puck and no one had touched it before he got hit it would have been legals. Watched it in slow motion too and i don’t think it crosses the .6 line. Might be close to that though. Him skating around the back and dishing the puck and getting hit all happen within one second on the time clock.

The primary puck carrier exiting and entering zones should be a center, but you ask your winger to do so and try to manufacture the majority of the scoring chances, you’re going to turn the puck over.

Gaudreau doesn’t have the luxury of creating plays up the middle where he has the space to equally go left or right. He’s really only free to move to his right to create and that makes it easier for defenders to force turnovers. Personally, Gaudreau is the last of this team’s issues as he and his line are the only reason why we’ve won the number of games we have.

What was the deal with the Lucic/Peluso fight, why did the refs suddenly jump in mid fight?

I didn’t watch but we were bound to lose eventually. Still in 1st so the Oilers can suck on that for a while.

I can take this loss, I still thought the Flames played relatively well but they looked a little fatigued and were lacking that bit of quality, a lot of passes and shots were just kind of off. It happens.

The thing is -- when the top line isn't able to get it done, which may happen from time to time, the secondary guys have to step up. This is why the James Neal situation is an issue. As much as the Flames will probably get right back in the win column on the backs of the first line, games like this showcase why that depth scoring is needed. The Flames need Neal to be what they paid for.

Oilers play such a boring game under Hitch. Credit to them because they have to when you only have once scoring line.

Flames looked tired and that’s understandable for a third game in 4 nights.

Would have been nice to get a point or two, but they battled despite missing Gio and Backs.

2/4 points this weekend. Forget it, rest up, and move on. This battle of Alberta sure wasn’t as fun as the first one.

Debrusk is such a Edmonton homer.

Just once I would love to hear “that should have been a penalty” on the Oilers.

Lots of guys looked off.

Tkachuk was not noticeable much. Lindholm had trouble with the puck on some grade A opportunities.

Rittich was awesome again.

Ryan has to be removed from the PP. Other guys can win face offs and he is just so rarely dangerous. Must have compromising pics of Peters.

Oilers are trying to be the Jacques Lemaire era Wild. Trap and hope McJesus scores. Brutal.

Hometown hockey is bad and as for the McJesus family, you hit the lottery because your damn kid is good at hockey. Otherwise you are not interesting. Congrats pa on passing the self volunteered ‘name the other oilers’ dads’ quiz. Good hell that was excruciating.

No big deal. Sometimes the wrong team wins. On to the next game.

No. Some of this has to do with having to adjust to different line mates, but not all of it. Tkachuk has not been as good for a couple weeks now. He has had a tonne of passes and shots bounce off of opposing players or miss their targets. He's in a bit of a funk, and that is not all on Bennett.

It was good to see Rittich bounce back and have himself a solid game again. Imagine if we could have both goalies playing solid for the upcoming stretch. You gotta think Smith is once again at least 1A and back in for the next game, but Rittich is still right there pushing.

He was actually ok prior to this year because he was being given assignments across the network and multiple teams week in and week out, and had decent insight,

But as soon as he’s started doing full time Oilers broadcasts since they punted Remenda, his bias towards his former team is pretty clear, and that’s exactly how Lowe likes his teams broadcasters.

Caveman Kassian was pretty quiet. Somebody actually in or above his weight class and he is nowhere to be found. And wtf is with the refs jumping in on Peluso/other caveman? Let them go. Didn’t see them jump in that fast when chucky got jumped last game...

That game was like going back in a time warp 10 or 15 years ... Minnesota Wild … ugh …. Flames were a split second behind most of the game , it looked like they didn't have their usual jump tonight … I'm chalking it up to it being their third game in four nights … it stings to lose to these guys but we'll be OK … onward and upward , we'll beat those guys next game … bring on the Flyers...

That's why I had no issue with dressing both Prout and Peluso. Lucic for one and Kassian for the other. Lucic is tough but he and Kassian are known to not always good or willing to fight with those who are the same size as them. Especially with those who can throw em.

Kassian is a known spot picker for his fights. A guy like Prout or Peluso will always one who Kassian will avoid. He may chirp, but that is all he will do or engage in when on the Ice. Kassian although big is a horrible fighter.
